Sneaking into Mark’s room in the middle of the night isn’t my smartest idea, but here I am, still tiptoeing my way down the hall to his door.
Can you blame a girl? After the things he said about me on the phone.
She is a smart and strong woman who I am lucky has given me the chance to know her and support her. She’s a woman who is slowly making me a better man.
I should have shown him how I felt the moment I heard him, but he needed something else from me at that moment.
God, I’m falling for him. Bad.
Up until this moment, anytime we have fooled around, it hasn’t been in either of our rooms. It wasn’t something we agreed on when we decided to go all in on this friends with benefits idea, but at the same time, we both silently agreed that would be taking it too far. Taking it to a too- intimate level, and we both know we need to keep this . . . grounded.
Wow. Listen to me. Am I making this into something it’s not? Am I focusing too much on not making this a thing when I should just be focusing on having a good time?
I pause outside his door.
I just said there is a reason we haven’t done the deed in either room, and now I’m going to go back on that. Why?
I close my eyes, turning slightly to head back to my room, when an image of Mark coming downstairs this morning to get coffee, fresh out of a shower with no shirt and smelling like a goddamn evergreen forest that I could get lost in fills my mind.
I’m doing it.
I spin back around and slowly open his door.
“Mark, are you by chance awake?”
Silence.
I step in, not bothering to close the door all the way since it’s only us in the house.
“Mark?” I call out in a whisper again. As I get closer to his bed, it’s clear as day that no one is in it. That’s when the light under the bathroom door grabs my attention.
Well, I made it this far. I may as well go into the bathroom.
My hand is on the handle, ready to turn it and get exactly what I came up here for, but I pause at the sound of a deep groan coming from the other side of the door.
Oh god. The noise is like an electric pulse right between my legs.
Just keep to the plan, Sydney. Go in there. Take control. Finish what he started.
Opening the door, I’m greeted with another groan. This one followed by my name. His hand appears against the shower wall, and the idea that he’s just right there, naked, pleasuring himself to the idea of me is all I need to strip quickly and open the shower door.
“Fuck!” he shouts, stepping back and slipping. He hits the side of the shower and falls onto the seat. “You scared the shit out of me.”
“Whoops” I slide to my knees, resting my hands on his thighs. “But it’ll be worth it. I promise.”
“I thought you were sleeping.”
“I was, but I’m very awake now.”
“Yeah, but I thought—wow,” he says as I take him in my mouth.
I’ve never been this forward about going down on a man, but right now, it’s as if I’ll go crazy if I don’t do this for him. For me. I don’t even know. I just know I want to do this right now.
“Jesus, Syd, slow down or I’ll be a goner in just a few seconds.”
Slow down? Never.
His begging only fuels my craving for this need to drive him mad with pleasure.
