Dear lord, who am I?

“Syd, Syd, fuck, fuck, yes!”

As soon as I feel him start to release, I pull back and finish him with my hand. I’m not that crazy . . . yet. But then I watch him come undone all over my knuckles and I lose it. So, maybe I am.

“Get behind me,” I say, more demanding than I expected.

I don’t even wait for his reply before I turn, palms on the wall under the showerhead as the warm water cascades down my back.

Mark grabs my hips, his erection pressing into my butt as he nudges my legs wider and places himself at my entrance.

In one hard thrust, I’m calling out his name.

It’s official.

Sex with any other man will never be good enough for me. Not just the sex but eating breakfast or dinner or vegging out on the couch, watching TV, or reading books . . . all of it. It has to be Mark.

And for the first time, I’m starting to see that I may just get all of it after all.

“Hey, Mark,” I say as we begin to wash off from our shower sex.

“Yeah?” He kisses my forehead.

“The other night in the car, I wasn’t saying no to moving with you.”

His gaze is intense, but not enough for me to look away.

“I’ll have an answer for you soon. I promise.”

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Sydney

Twenty-five weeks already. I can’t believe it. Time flies-sort of.

I stare at my belly in the mirror, turn to the side, and cradle it in my hands.

I should practice what I’m going to say to Mark. In the last few weeks, he and I have been so happy, my mind has finally had time to calm down.

I think we could do this.

“I’m not saying that I think we should just jump in and get married right now. What I’m saying is, I do see this as more. As the two of us dating. We are building something together, no pun intended to this growing bump here, but between us, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes us.”

I pause and smile.

“There, I said it. It sounded pretty darn good. What do you think?” I ask my belly. A little kick to the right side tells me she heard me.

“So, you support this choice?”

Another kick.

“Well, if you like the idea, I’d say we tell him today.”

I scoot to the edge of my bed and head for the bathroom.

“What do you think of the idea of me sleeping in his room one of these nights?”

Now, I won’t say I’ve lost my mind, but I woke up today and just started talking to my stomach as if it were the most normal thing in the world. If you ask me, it totally is.
