I never take my eyes off him. We’ve spent too much time not telling the other one exactly what we want. If ever there was a place to change that, it’s right now.

“You’re sure?” he asks.

I groan and nudge him closer with my heel to his butt. The tip of his cock touches my entrance, and we both suck in a breath.

“There’s no going back after this,” he says. “You’re mine.”

“I know,” I say and kiss him.

He slowly starts to push inside me when the doorbell rings.

“Shit,” he hisses and pulls out, jerking his pants up. “Shit. Shit. Shit.”

“What? Just don’t answer it.”

“It’s Wednesday,” he says, as if I should know exactly what that means. He starts rushing around the table and tosses my clothes at me. “Get dressed.”

“I’m sorry,” I snap and hop off the table. “I didn’t realize there was something else you’d rather be doing.”

I pull my shirt over my head and step into my panties.

“You’re reading this wrong,” he says and then pulls me by the hip toward him and kisses me.

I shove him back. “You just stopped mid-sex with me because your doorbell rang. I didn’t read anything wrong.”

“Calla,” he says with a warning. “Trust me when I say I’d love nothing more than to be deep inside you right now, but if—”

The doorbell rings again, and then the door handle jiggles.

“Beck, open the door. Why is it locked anyway? You never lock it.”

My eyes widen at the sound of my brother’s voice.

“It’s Wednesday,” I repeat as their weekly group writing finally clicks into place.

Beck is just getting himself put back together as I escape down the stairs.

It feels like I don’t take my next breath until I’m in my room with the door closed.

My brother almost caught his best friend going down on me, and more, at the kitchen table.

Oh. My. God.

Oh. My. God.

Oh. My. God.

I repeat this about a dozen times before I go upstairs for a glass of water. I repeat it once more, mouthing it to Beck as he flashes me a cheeky grin. Then I see my brother sitting at the end of the table. Atthatend.

If I thought my life was complicated before when it came to Beck Robertson, I’m in for one hell of a ride now.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

BECK

It’s occurred to me that I’ve been so focused on building a career all these years that I’ve never actually been in a long-term relationship, and living with Calla the past few weeks and being married these past few months has well turned into my longest relationship.

I’m not sure what I’m doing, but from my experience and from the feedback I’ve received from the books I’ve written, I have a sneaking good feeling that buying gifts randomly for women is always a wise move.
