"Will your pack understand?" I asked hopefully. "They know what it's like to have a scentmatch."

"I don't know. Jake has been so angry with me lately." She looked behind her anxiously.

"Okay, here's what we're going to do. I'll come back tomorrow with a phone," Grayson told her. "You can keep it hidden, but it will have all our numbers and we can text on it. We're working on figuring out how to get you out."

"Really?" She looked so surprised that I wanted to kiss her and prove that this wasn't some pie in the sky dream.

"Really," I said fiercely. "Emilia, you belong with us. You deserve to be loved and cherished. Not locked up in a room."

"Technically, I can always escape out the window," she pointed out.

"And that may be what you have to do," Grayson admitted. "If anything happens, get out this way and come straight to our place. We'll keep you safe."

"Thank you." She leaned over and wrapped her arms around me, lingering for a moment before she turned to hug Grayson, too. "They'll be home soon, so you better go. I feel better talking to you, though."

"Good." I gave her leg one last rub and reluctantly turned away.

Grayson and I hopped the fence and turned to wave at Emilia as she slipped back in through her window.

"I'm going to get her a phone right now."

"I'll come with," I said, hurrying after him on the way to the car. "We'll never not know what's going on with our omega again."

I smiled. I was already thinking of her as ours. This was exactly how it was supposed to be.

Turnabout

Emilia

Grayson popped over the fence the next day and slipped the phone to me through the window. It was pink and had a sparkly case on it. I loved it instantly. He also handed me a Ziplock bag with some fabric in it.

"What's this?"

"Keep it under your mattress and when something has you down, open it a little bit," he said. "You'll understand then."

"Okay."

The front door opened and I jumped, looking at Grayson with wide eyes. "Go!" I hissed.

He gave me a sad look and then ran over to the fence and vaulted it easily, disappearing from my sight a moment later.

I tucked both the bag and the phone under my mattress and stepped back to the wall to keep painting. A few minutes later, the lock clicked. It was time for me to make dinner.

It wasn't until after I'd cleaned up from dinner that I was able to pull out the phone and examine it. There was a passcode on itand I frowned. Grayson hadn't said anything about a code. How was I supposed to guess what he would put in?

Flipping the phone over, I spotted a piece of paper tucked into the case with a number, 0415. Typing it into the phone, I discovered that was actually the code and the phone opened up for me. He'd preinstalled some apps, including a messaging app and several social media sites, with each of their pages already bookmarked.

Happily, I signed in and started checking out their pages. It was like being home again, seeing their smiling (in Jude's case, not smiling) faces. Santi had a photo of Grayson and Oren cheek to cheek, holding up a homemade pizza they'd had for dinner yesterday and I saved it to my favorites before liking it. There was no reason to hide my likes now. Even though my user name was different from my actual name, I figured they'd know it was me.

Sure enough, a couple of seconds after I'd liked the photo, a message popped up in the message app.

Santiago:You made it online! How are you?

Emilia:Better now I can talk to you guys.

Oren:omg, you're a brown-noser!

Santiago:It was a pic of you, moron
