Jake stood up, towering over me. "NO GOING OUTSIDE!" he barked. "To be sure of it, I have someone installing bars on your window as we speak."
Sure enough, I could hear sounds coming from outside the house. My stomach clenched. I had no way of getting away from this pack now. And my one tiny piece of freedom was gone.
I shut down, hugging myself and tucking my feet up under me. Jake was still talking, but I didn't hear any of it. Nothing he said mattered anyway. They'd taken away everything I could possibly enjoy. They'd starved me. I was starting to wonder if maybe the heat dens would be better, after all.
It felt like hours that I sat there rocking on the chair, shoulders hunched around my ears. I was vaguely aware of movement around me, of voices, but it didn't penetrate my bubble. Not until Rory hit me.
It was an open-handed slap, but it was hard enough to send my head snapping to the side.
I stared up at him in horror. None of them had ever raised a hand to me before.
"Pay attention, omega!"
A sob ripped from my throat as the pain registered. He'd hit the scarred side of my face and the pain felt like little biting ants crawling up the lines where my face had been put back together, plus the burn of his hand on my unscarred skin.
"Shut up and listen," Jake barked.
My throat tightened in response to his command, my omega side forced to obey.
"Here's what will happen. You'll be let out every morning at 6 am to make breakfast and do the household chores while we eat. You'll also prepare the lunch at that time. Then you will be locked in your room from 8 am until 6 pm when I get home from work. At that time, you will make dinner and return to your room. Understood?"
"I understand I'm to be a slave and prisoner," I said bitterly. "This is how you treat an omega you signed off on? Someone you promised to protect and care for?"
"You're my pack property and I will do as I please with you," he thundered.
I looked at Candace. "What about her? Is she your pack property too?"
"Of course, she is."
To my satisfaction, I saw Candace's eyes widen slightly. She thought she was all that because she was their scentmatch, but she was anything but. Just another piece of property.
"Then I have one thing to say," I told him, rising.
Jake raised an eyebrow, waiting.
"I found my scentmatches."
"That's a lie. You haven't been out in months."
I smiled slightly. "Turns out, they're right next door. Are you going to keep scentmatches apart?"
"Those prissy boys over there? The ones who held the party? They already have an omega," Rory laughed.
"So did you," I pointed out.
Jake stepped forward and I jumped away from him, my face still stinging from Rory's hand. "You're not going anywhere. You're ours and you will stay here."
"Good to know the scentmatch thing only applies to you bastards."
I spun and ran for the front door. If I could get outside and scream for Santi and Grayson… but it was no use. Rory tackled me to the ground before I could make it halfway.
My head slammed into the hardwood floor and his entire weight crushed me into it. Try as I might, I couldn't get any leverage to push him off me. He lay there quite content to squash me into the ground. I could feel him hardening against my ass. The bastard was getting off on this.
"Let me go," I wheezed with the last of my air. My nose throbbed and my whole body ached from the takedown.
"Why? You're here for us."
Rory reached under us and ripped my leggings, forcing himself between my thighs as he fumbled with his pants.
