“Yeah, well, I believe in bribery and shit, sure, but if that don’t work, I’m down to do shit the gangsta way too. Trust me. Charm will be out of that contract within a year.” I dug into my pocket, pulled out my business card, and offered it to her. “Hit me up when you’re ready to hop off that sinking ship.”

Allison looked from me to the card and back. Then she plucked it out of my hand, shoved it in her pocket, and turned back toward the stage.

I followed her lead.

Tonight was the last night of their tour and I had flowers delivered before Radiant Reverie performed their last song.

I met my wife as she walked off stage, her jacket also thrown over my shoulder.

I held two dozen roses out toward Charm as she filed off behind her and Myome immediately wrapped her arms around my waist.

“Thank you, Drix.” Charm gave me a small smile as she collected the flowers.

“Welcome.” I wrapped my arms around Myome and looked down at her. “You good?”

“Yeah. I’m just… I don’t know,” she admitted. “It’s weird knowing Radiant Reverie as I knew it is just done now.”

“I feel you.” I grabbed her jaw and tilted her head back. “You did yo’ thing these last two tours though. No matter what happens next, this shit will forever be a part of your story, Yo. For real. It’s alright to be a lil bit nostalgic though.”

“Thanks.” She stuck her lip out.

I leaned down and kissed her twice before grabbing a handful of her ass and pulling her closer to me.

“You gon’ be alright, baby. I got you. You know that, right?”

“Yeah. I know.” She put a hand to the back of my neck and pulled me down to kiss again.

“You better know it.” I smacked her ass then let her go so she could take pictures with Charm, Retta, and their supporters.

By the time we made it back at the hotel, Myome was exhausted. She held on to the flowers and I plucked her up and carried her through the hotel up to the room where I lay her softly on the bed.

“Come on, Twin. Up and in the shower. We’ve got an early flight in the morning.”

“I know.” She yawned. “I know.”

She lay where she was for a little longer before pushing herself up and I trailed her so we could take care of our nighttime hygiene and rest.

The next day, we were back home before noon. As soon as Myome was home and back in bed, I called Dashawn and had him meet me at the house.

“Welcome back.” He dapped me.

“Thanks. Good to be back.”

“You landed what? Thirty minutes ago? And you’re already back on bullshit?”

“I stay on bullshit.” I shrugged.

Dashawn snickered but threw his car in reverse and backed out of my driveway. He drove with his music blasting and a joint in his hand.

We were about ten minutes into the drive before I realized I didn’t know the music playing. I glanced at the screen and saw that it was coming from his phone, reached forward, and lowered the volume.

“Who’s that?”

“Who’s who?”

“Bitch, you ain’t funny,” I deadpanned. “You know fucking well what you’re doing.”

Dashawn chuckled and took a hit from his joint.
