“And here I thought I was the naughty one.”

I lifted a brow. “Oh, you are.” His arms tightened around me, and I got serious. “I love the way you make me feel, Malcolm. I know we had a little hiccup there just over a week ago, but you’ve proven to me that I wasn’t wrong to believe there was something special between us, that you believed I was someone special. I don’t know exactly how this happened so quickly, but it happened for me, too.”

“What happened?”

“You made me fall for you.”

Malcolm’s features softened, and he brought his hand to the side of my head to tuck a lock of my hair behind my ear while he lifted his head from the pillow to kiss me. When he pulled back, he said, “You have no idea how hard it’s been to sit across the hall for these last three weeks looking at your gorgeous legs and not being able to do a single thing about it.”

“It wasn’t exactly a walk in the park for me to ignore the way it felt every time you winked at me.”

“We were both living in misery.”

I smiled at him and said, “But it seems like Santa has put us both on the nice list this year, so we really shouldn’t be complaining.”

“I never would have thought I’d wind up there.”

“That’s because you’re the one with the naughty heart.”

“Not anymore.”

Those two words did it for me.

I didn’t doubt for one second that Malcolm was fully committed to me and whatever was ahead for us.

“Not anymore,” I repeated.

He held my gaze a moment before he asked, “What are your plans for the rest of this weekend?”

I hesitated briefly. “I was kind of thinking it might be nice to spend it with you, doing more of what we just did.”

“I thought you were tired.”

“I am. Maybe just a little.”

“Let’s take a nap. I’ll wake you up after you’ve had some time to recuperate. Then we’ll get our weekend started.”

Just like that, he was giving me what I wanted for the weekend. So, I gave him a kiss before I cuddled close and rested my head on his chest again.

Feeling so good, it didn’t take long for me to drift off. But just as he promised, Malcolm woke me up a little while later, so we could get started on our weekend plans.

“Does this feel weird?”

“What?”

I shrugged. “Being back here at work, knowing what we did this weekend?”

Malcolm laughed. “Knowing what we did this weekend leaves me feel a lot of things, but weird isn’t one of them. Do you feel weird?”

“I just don’t think it’s going to be easy,” I revealed. “How am I supposed to go all day long without kissing you?”

His brows pulled together. “Who said you had to do something ridiculous like that?”

I glanced around, making sure nobody was there, before I said, “It’s not appropriate.”
