I nodded, my brain too addled with lust to form words. I doubled my efforts, sliding up and down his thick shaft, then curled my hand around his balls. They tightened at my touch and a satisfying moan erupted between us.

His fingers moved more quickly, the blossoming inferno seconds away from utter devastation. “Mmm, Axel, don’t stop,” I breathed.

“I wasn’t planning on it, blondie.”

My frantic movements quickened as I felt his cock twitch, and I gave into the all-consuming pleasure. My head fell back at the same instant as thick ropes of warm cum covered my hand.

A symphony of groans filled the air between us as we climaxed in perfect unison.

I’d never managed that with anyone before. Warmth unfurled in my chest, but I shoved it down, far down. For a long moment, I just stood there panting, heart fluttering.

Once the echoes of pleasure finally fell away, I slumped against the door, my legs like jelly. A shit-eating grin was splashed across Axel’s lips as he reached for a tissue from his dresser and offered it to me.

“I think it’s going to take more than that.” I’d never seen so much cum explode from one cock before.

He palmed the back of his neck, and a twinge of crimson coated his cheeks. “I told you it had been a while.”

He disappeared into the bathroom and returned a moment later with a wet wipe.

“Same.” I shrugged, wiped my hands off then pulled my panties up.

Axel grabbed a pair of boxers from the drawer and speared his legs into them. An awkward silence settled between us as we just stood there, neither speaking.

“Let’s not make this weird,” I finally blurted when the quiet reached uncomfortable levels. “It was just a one-time thing, a mutually beneficial arrangement, right?”

“Right, absolutely. It doesn’t have to affect our fake dating agreement.” He pulled out a shirt and tugged it over his head. “Everything is still the same.”

“Totally agree.” I turned around, and my hand closed around the doorknob. “Well, I guess I should go.”

“What, you're not going to grill me anymore about what happened tonight?”

“I decided maybe you’re right, and it’s better if I just stayed out of it.”

“Good girl.” A grin splattered across his lips.

“But if you’re going to do something stupid like that again, you better give me the heads up, so I don’t find myself in the middle of your fraternity bullshit.”

“Fair enough.” He leaned against the dresser, an adorable boyish grin on his face.

My reckless heart fluttered. “See ya, Ax.”

I forced myself to turn the knob before I did something stupid like ask to stay the night because the traitorous words were on the tip of my tongue.

“Good night, blondie.”

CHAPTER 31

PSYCHO IN THE MASK

Axel

I hunched over my dresser and ran my finger over the deep red spots staining the yellow leather of Susanna’s wallet. The chance of this being her blood was high. Damn near certain. And how it got there definitely had something to do with the brotherhood.

Bile oozed up my throat, thinking I could have been the reason this innocent girl vanished.

She was dead. No doubt about it. That was how the Serpents & Daggers handled problems, and if she’d seen something that night on the bluffs or afterward, she would be amajorproblem.

The door flew open, and just as Killian and Gage walked in, I slipped the wallet into my jeans pocket.
