Roger laughed. “Oh yeah, that big guy looked like he has a lot to worry about. I think you were worried about his hard cock. You wanna find a way to make sureit’sokay?”
Kinda.
“Shut up,” I said. “I just don’t know if it was a good idea to leave him like that.”
“He’s probably here with friends. He’ll be fine.”
“You’re right.” I kept looking around, hoping to see him again and determine if he really was with friends, but I didn’t see where he’d gone to, so I shook it off and kept dancing with my buddy. It was nineties night, so I didn’t really recognize anything, and then there was this one Raye song I thought was about to play, but it wasn’t even that.
Anyway…
Roger noticed something out of the corner of his eye.
“What?” I asked, but I already knew.
“Okay, don’t turn right away, but…”
Too late. I followed his line of sight to find Carter with that guy he cheated on me with—Leo. Because of course his name was Leo. Leo and Carter. They sounded like an OnlyFans team, the kind who’d have plenty of PPV content and probably live in a mansion from fucking so many guys together. It wasn’t just their names either. They totally looked that way, which is probably why Carter moved on from me…Charlie, which is pretty much the cutest thing I could do with a name like Charles. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a Charlie, but come on, Momand Dad, couldn’t I have been something sexy like Jesse or Dax or Liam?
Just seeing Carter and Leo together, holding hands, flaunting their new relationship status, sent a jolt of rage through me. To think Carter was getting plenty of sex from Leo those last five months we were together. And we were only together six months!
“You good?” Roger asked, knowing I was anything but.
“Aren’t asshole exes supposed to lock themselves in their place and never leave?” I groaned, starting to feel a little nauseous, though that might have been the last shot we had at the bar. “I want to get out of here, ideally without that asshole noticing me. I’m sorry. Are you gonna be mad if I head out?”
“Mad? Hell yeah. Pissed at Carter for ruining what should be a fun night. But no, bruh. Here, I can go with you.”
“I’m, like, a block away, and Tyler’s meeting you here. I don’t want to ruin the night.”
“You sure?” he asked, because he’s a good friend like that.
“I’m sure,” I said before we hugged it out.
I avoided Carter and Leo like the plague as I headed to the front door.
I’d only made it a few yards down the street before I could feel that last shot really kicking in, making me lightheaded. “Fuck.” I stumbled, clearly drunker than I thought. I tried to correct my step, knowing my forehead was about to meet the pavement, when I felt someone behind me, helping me stay on my feet.
“Oh, thank you,” I said, assuming it was Roger. “But I’ll be fine.” I wasn’t really sure, given how quickly that hit me. I just didn’t think it was fair for him to have to take me back to my place when he should be out having a fun Friday night.
As I turned to him, I was shocked to find it wasn’t Roger at all, but the Daddy.
“Oh…” I said, taken aback. “Daddy.”
The hairs on his gorgeous face shifted with a smile as he pressed his hand to his chest. “Daddy,” he assured me, oddly.
Is he that drunk?
AmIthat drunk?
“Thanks, but I’m fine. Just that last shot hit me kind of hard, but I’m not far from here.”
He stood there, staring at me, watching me in a way that honestly felt pretty nice.
That’s such a Pisces thing, though, am I right?
“Sorry, I’m making this awkward. It was nice meeting you.” I turned toward my place, but again, I stumbled.Fucking A.This time, the whole world started to move, the nausea really kicking in.
“The hell?”
