“She’s a remarkable woman,” I tell him. “You have an amazing daughter, sir.”

“Then you will understand when I tell you that she deserves to be with someone better than an outlaw biker.”

The anger slides up my spine. He doesn’t even know me, yet he’s passing judgment. I have millions in my bank account and am one of the most prized fighters in the circuit. As far as thetype of man I am, I live by the code of honesty and honor, unlike most of the people he does business with. And as far as his daughter is concerned, I will spend my days making that girl’s dreams come true. He can be assured she’ll be protected and cared for.

“You don’t have anything to worry about, Hemsworth. With me, she’ll be safe and secure. She’ll never want for anything.”

“Ha!” He laughs ruthlessly. “I’m the one who has provided that girl with everything she’ll ever need. And believe me, she’ll have one hell of a prenup when she decides to marry.”

“I’m not after her money, and she knows that. You fail to remember, Hemsworth, I’m a Steel Sinner. Money, power, and respect come with my name. I love that girl for her heart, not because of who her father is.”

Her ex was the one after her money. Hemsworth should be thanking me for getting him out of the picture.

“If you’re not willing to walk away, then you leave me with only one choice. I’ll be paying the man who takes your life in that ring tonight ten million dollars. Figure that’s a big enough incentive to get the job done.”

I won’t lie. It fucking stings that I don’t have his approval. I figured since he’d done business with us Steel Sinners that we’d earned his respect. But I figured wrong. My girl has already reassured me that she doesn’t care what her father thinks, but I do. I want his blessing so I can marry the girl.

“I wouldn’t bet against me if I were you. I never lose.”

“You’re that sure you can take them? My money’s getting placed on the second fighter. I think the first one will tire you out, and the second guy will take you down.”

“And if you’re wrong? What happens if I win?”

“Thought you didn’t want my money.”

“I don’t. I want your daughter’s hand in marriage.”

He jerks back, looking as if he was the one who just took my left hook. I know it’s fast, but I couldn’t be more serious about his daughter. She’s my other half. The one I’ve spent my life searching for.

“Like I said, I’m certain ten million is enough motivation to take care of my problem. But if you happen to make it out alive, then I will support my daughter’s decision.”

That’s all I needed to hear. And by the night’s end, I’ll be putting a ring on her finger. I’m not winning this fight to prove him wrong. I’m winning because I made a promise to my girl, and I will always keep my promises.

“Just remember your promise.” I hug him tighter. My stomach is a complete mess. I need these fights to be over with, so I can stop worrying. I’ve never been this scared in my life.

“I won’t ever break a promise, baby. Now, give me a kiss for good luck and then go take your seat with your dad and Deuce. I need to make sure you’re safe.”

I kiss him like my life depends on it, likehislife depends on it. I kiss him until I can’t breathe, until I can barely stand. I need to ensure he comes back to me. I need to incentivize him to win.

“Damn, baby. Now, I’m going to be going into that ring with a hard dick. My naughty princess is going to pay for that later.”

“If you win, I’ll be coming back here and bending over so you can spank me for my bad behavior.”

“Going to spank that ass with my tongue and cock.”

Now, my body is sweltering. I’m breaking out into a sweat.

“Go on, babe. I need to make sure you’re safe before I go on.”

I place one last kiss on his lips. “I love you.”

“Love you more.”

I can’t even look back as I leave. If I do, he may see my tears.
