‘I hope the pipes work fine,’ she waved and got a hesitant wave back. The man was obviously confused and for a moment she wondered if she’d made a mistake and it was 16 Maple Road or not even Maple Road at all.

“Hi,” she called. “I’m Sonya. I answered your ad on Craigslist.”

“What?” the man named Diesel said and Sonya thrilled at the deep baritone. “I don’t remember posting one.”

“Really?” Sonya said. “Is this 14 Maple Road?” she asked checking through her phone.

“Yes,” Diesel said a look of sudden realization coming in to his face. “Oh crap, wait.” He rushed inside the house and Sonya walked up the porch and followed him inside. It was just as disappointing as she thought it would be.

A boring green couch in front of a boring big-assed TV, the bare walls a forgettable grey and an empty bookshelf. There was a bulky PC on a desk in one corner of the room. It looked like something out of the 90’s. Diesel was clicking away at the keys on his keyboard and staring at the screen like a man possessed.

“Shit,” he said.

“Found it?” Sonya asked grinning down at him. He just looked horrified.

“I was drunk,” he said. “This is a mistake. I’m sorry.”

“I left my job,” Sonya said her face crestfallen. “I had this huge garage sale and sold all my stuff! I don’t even have a place to go back to!” She was pleased that this tirade was having the desired effect. Diesel was as pale as the white horse of the apocalypse.

“I’m so sorry,” he stammered. “I guess you can stay here for a while.”

“Thank you,” Sonya said wiping a rogue tear from her eye. ‘That will give me enough time to wrap you around my finger,’ she thought. ‘I could use a man like you around the house to keep Rex away.’

“I’ll help you with your things,” Diesel followed her to her car and helped carry her bags. “There’s only one room,” he said apologetically. Sonya didn’t respond but her eyes got dewy. “I guess I could take the couch.”

“Thank you,” Sonya gave him a sweet smile. “You’re awfully sweet. Are you sure you didn’t really want a girlfriend?”

Diesel turned crimson but didn’t reply.

“You have a nice house,” Sonya said.

“Thanks,” Diesel said and led her to the back in to his room. The space was dominated by a large unmade bed and a small bedside table. There was a wardrobe overflowing with T-shirts and boxer briefs. Sonya sat on the foot of the bed, bouncing a little to check how comfy it was; she caught Diesel watching her jiggling breasts.

“That’s the bathroom over there,” he pointed and Sonya opened the door. It was large and the only space in the house that looked like money had been spent on it. There was a hot tub in front of a large bay window with a magnificent view.

‘I can picture myself sipping Champaign while I soak in that tub,’ she thought.

“There’s only one so we’re going to have to share,” Diesel said.

“I don’t mind,” Sonya said silkily. “I mean I did come over here to share.”

Diesel swallowed hard.

“I should go in to town and get some groceries.”

“Okay.”

“Make yourself at home,” he hesitated as if remembering.

“Sonya,” she supplied.

“Yes. I’m Diesel Wake,” he held out a large hand.

“Diesel,” she said taking it and felt the stirrings of a large jungle cat in his touch. ‘A Were! Oh this is delicious!’

“I’ll see you in a while,” he said.

Sonya watched him back out of the drive. She’d be ready for him when he came back because she had decided that she liked Diesel Wake and that she was going to seduce him till he was madly in love with her.

‘And then I’m going to sort this place out!’ she thought running a finger over the sagging couch.

Chapter Five

Red Heat

Diesel couldn’t believe his moronic luck. He didn’t know whether to quit drinking to spite his drunk self or to go on another drunken binge because man’o’man did he land a beauty. Diesel had had a hard time hiding his bulging erection in all the time he’d spent in her company. It was true he hadn’t been laid in over six months but living with Sonya for a week would give him blue balls.
