“I can’t believe this shit,” he seethed.
Still holding onto Darius, Raven checked her phone. Her image, frozen in rage, looked back at her. Reading the website, Raven stared at a picture of her and Darius facing off, their teeth bared.
“Oh, that bitch,” she screamed.
“What now?” Darius ran a hand over her back. Not the least bit comforted, Raven thrust the phone at him.
Stupid.
She’d been foolish to trust him to protect her. Replaying the headline in her mind, she wanted to yell. Curse to the stars and back, but she only had herself to blame.

“You did this…you—”
Darius inclined his head as if he needed more of an explanation.
“You and your casual sex Kimber office banger doll!” Raven released Darius, her skin burning. She’d done it again, made herself vulnerable to him. “It should mean something, Darius.”
Like she thought it had when he touched her. You couldn’t possibly care for someone and then betray him like this.
“I’ll handle this.”
“How?” She did scream this time.
“Fuck, Raven. Trust me to handle this,” he said, his expression fierce.
“No. She came after my son…my son,” she screamed like a mad woman. She turned and snatched up Lexi’s clothes and toys. He’d proven she couldn’t trust him.
“Stop packing, Raven.”
She rounded on him. “Go home, Darius. I’m taking my son back to Endurance.”
Lifting her chin, Raven acted braver than she felt. Had allowing Darius back in her life set her and Lexi up for happiness or heartbreak?
