And absolutely a prisoner before they even cuffed him. That part had already been handled by one hell of a stunning princess. One incredible surprise of a woman. A female who, in the space of one night, had changed every night he’d know after it.
He hoped the shackles never came off.
Shit, shit, shit. The admission was definitely one for the emotional crypt. That much was already clear—and terrifying. But just for a while, just for once, he was going to just let that fact lie. Oh yeah, right where it was, out in the open, across his mind and soul.
Big mistake? Likely. Probably. But he literally had no fucks left to give about it. Especially not as Jayd breathed his name so gorgeously across his lips. And then again.
Brick jerked gently at her scalp, compelling her to meet his direct gaze. “What is it, Pixie?”
A troubled V crinkled between her eyebrows. “I…I do not know if I can stop.”
He gave her a cocky smirk. “You asking for permission, sweet girl?”
The V stayed, though she cracked a little grin. “Are you granting it?”
He burst with a quick chuckle. “Yes, sweetheart. Your Sir is granting it.” Damn it if his johnson wasn’t already jerking back to some attention, making him buck upward in time to her naughty downward slides. “Come on, my hot little Pixie. Let it go. Give it to me.”
Like the perfect little girl she was…
She did.
“Ohhh!” she sighed out, shuddering with audacious abandon. “Faisi vive Creacu. Merderim, Hocatre. Merderim.”
Her poetic little tribute, or whatever it was, only put Brick deeper under her sensual spell. She’d hypnotized him, and he couldn’t be happier about it. Her pleasure was so full and free and sexy, especially every time she slid her quivering core along his swollen length. If this was a normal night and they were tangled in sheets now, he’d already be half-buried inside her again.
But nothing had been normal since he met this woman. And right now, even though they were postclimax cuddling amid stone angels, somber saints, and about seven members of the Aider family, he wouldn’t change a single thing about it.
“Brickham?”
Except to add that tiny whisper to the scenario.
“Hmmm?” He drawled the reply with the same lazy tenderness as he stroked a knuckle up her spine.
“Do you think the Aiders will mind a guest soul in here? I am fairly certain I cannot move. Ever again.”
He laughed again but then reiterated, “Hmmm.” He reversed direction in the space between her shoulder blades, caressing back down before adding, “Well, that’s too bad.”
“Bad?” she countered. “Why?”
“Because I was just thinking, if we did this with access to a bed…”
She was on her feet before he could think of what witticism to end with. Brick didn’t waste time indulging another chuckle, though as soon as he caught up with her, a sound kiss was in order. He bestowed the thorough smack to her lips as a pair of squirrels cheered with their soft chirps, which had Jayd breaking off with a quiet giggle.
Brick couldn’t even be pissed with the little bastards. Their vocal freedom gave him an essential bead, letting him know the coast was clear for scrambling to one of the cemetery’s side walls. Even if they had time to just get Jayd over and out to freedom, the risk would be worth it.
He grabbed her hand but let her use her other one to drag open the crypt’s gate. But before he led her out of their hiding spot, he pulled her back against him one more time.
The embrace was too short but beyond essential. Just enough time for him to kiss her again, this time with fervent intent. Another moment to cup her cheek, and ensuring she gazed far and deep into his eyes. Oh yeah, all the way back to the place where all his secrets lived, and his soul was usually the world’s most adamant hermit.
The hermit who stood up and spoke for him now.
“Thank you,” the guy whispered to her, and she smiled back—but not for long. “Hey. What is it?” he prompted as soon as the inquisitive frown took over her face.
Before she could answer, there was a flurry of new yells across the graveyard. Noises that were too damn close.
“We need to go,” Jayd muttered, clearly shelving her frown-worthy item. While Brick hated that she had to hold back anything from him, his worse aggravation was that she was thinking clearer than him. It wasn’t a circumstance he was used to, and he didn’t like it.
And he was more than ready to fix it.
