For the next hour, we got back on track and enjoyed each other’s company before I got myself together and headed for Coppins. Woods was Fazio’s last name but preferred to be addressed by that instead. I thought his name was cute, but he hated it.

I bumped SZA’s latest album while I was on the highway and threw Hendrix as well as Akeera to the back of my mind along the way. My plan was to call her once I got to my destination but before I walked into his crib. I knew Hendrix and he was going to look for signs in my background on where I was.

It took me almost two hours due to traffic being jammed packed, which I surprisingly didn’t mind. I was content and carefree for once. I didn’t have to worry about my nigga hounding me on when to be home or any of that. I was given a seven-day vacation and I planned on enjoying myself.

By the time I pulled into Woods’ driveway, it was a little after ten. I knew Hendrix would still be awake, but I wasn’t sure if Akeera was. I parked and Facetimed Hendrix’s phone. Regardless of how he felt, I knew he wanted to see me before the night was over.

“Mommy!” was screamed through the screen.

I smiled and put on surprising eyes for her. Akeera was my world just as much as she was her father’s, but I was a mother that was in her having fun era. I hated that she didn’t understand that.

“Hi baby girl. What are you doing up so late?”

“Daddy said I can, and he let me sleep in the big bed with him.”

“Oh yeah? I’m glad you’re spending time with him. What did you guys eat for dinner?”

“We ate steak and sparatus with potatoes.”

“That sounds delicious. Where’s Daddy at now?” I questioned wanting to see Hendrix as well. I would always love that man.

“Right here.”

Next thing I knew, she was putting his face into the camera. I would be delusional if I said he was the sexiest man in the world to me because he wasn’t. Woods definitely had him beat by a long shot, but Hendrix carried a certain type of swag that made him desirable.

“What’s up?” his baritone beamed through the speaker.

“Hey. I didn’t really want anything I was just wondering where you were. Kiss my daughter for me please. I’ll call early tomorrow.”

“Where are you staying Avi?”

“Give me space Hendrix. I’ll call tomorrow.”

I hung up and placed my phone on Airplane Mode. It wasn’t that I wanted him to track my location because even though we shared it indefinitely, he never checked it. He trusted me more than I did him at this point. The first thing I would’ve thought was that I would go out and get revenge. He didn’t think like that at all.

Putting my phone in my glove compartment, I stepped out and grabbed my suitcase from the trunk. I made my way to the door, and he was waiting for me butterball with a hard dick. I smiled and instantly knew what this trip was going to consist of.

“What took you so long?”

“I had to handle something. I see you’re ready for me,” I replied stepping inside and stripping down to match his energy.

“Always.”

The sly smirk he carried let me know he was on demon time. I wanted everything he was about to offer. Woods could fuck me into a coma and wake me up with the same kind of treatment. He knew how to handle me, and he catered to my body on a regular basis. I loved throwing it because he caught it like no other.

“Show me what’s up then.”

Chapter Six

SORIMAH

Time in the new office was moving at a fast pace. Our business had picked up and for the life of me, I couldn’t understand why. After getting through the finality of everything, EJ and I were gaining new employees as well as new clients. We stayed in our lane, and it seemed to be doing right by us.

EJ mentioned throwing them a party once before and now I was thinking it needed to happen sooner than later because whatever they were doing was putting new sets of eyes on us. I loved how they received compliments on top of compliments about their care and it needed to be rewarded.

“Hey Penelope, do you mind meeting me in the conference room? I wanted to start on something,” I asked over the desk phone.

“Yes ma’am. I’ll be right there.”
