“Let me help you.” I bat my lashes playfully.

He snarls and backs me against the truck frame. “If you don’t fuckin’ listen to me, we’re gonna have problems, Mrs. Zayle.” He rolls his eyes like he’s coming. “Gods, that sounds good. Glad we did that paperwork, and I get to call you my missus.”

I slip a hand between us to cup the obvious hard length pressed to the front of his jeans. “I need you, Ranger Zayle.”

He chuckles darkly and covers my hand with his, curling my fingers around him and running my hand up and down his cock. “Mmm, tonight I might make you call me sir. Maybe daddy. I ain’t decided yet. But I’m gonna tell you one more time to get inside, Lemon. I’ll be there shortly.”

A dark thrill shoots through our bond, pulling a gasp from me. I love it when Furyon gets dominant like this. He needs it sometimes, I’ve learned. He’s happy to be under me, at my whims. Tied up, tied down, controlled. He’s down for anything I want. But now and again, the predatory side of his nature demands he toss me around and just take.

I shudder thinking about it. He rips his shirt open and yanks it off his shoulders as his muscles pop and grow. His horns sprout longer as his eyes glitter like twin icicles. The promise of his taller, bigger form makes my fangs punch from my gums.

“Git, Lemon.”

Yips echo through the night, a pack of pit hells rounding the house. They shout and holler as they surround us. We’ve still got Varek’s pup. She’s missing him; I can tell in the way her ears droop sometimes, although she seems happier following Bebop around. But I don’t think Varek’s story’s quite done. We’re finding out more. I think he’ll be outta jail soon because, despite what I heard, I don’t think he was part of Letitia’s deal.

That’s a problem for another day, though. The pit hells follow Furyon as he heads toward the storage shed to grab food for the chickens.

On the porch, I pause and turn, looking out at the stunning landscape in front of us. The mountain range soars up into the sky off to my right. Pale light from downtown is barely visible off to the left. The gulch is somewhere past that, hopefully full of safe, healed mustangs. They weren’t happy with the antidote vaccine, but we made it through.

I never would have fashioned myself a country girl. I thought I was city lights and skyscrapers till death, but I don’t think I could leave Pine Gulch. Not for any reason. Even despite Furyon.

This place has unleashed something inside me. Something wild. Something free. Wind buffets my hair from side to side, and for the first time since I came here, I don’t think about it ruining my curls.

I smile at that realization. Elle Woods and Bruiser would be so proud.

A growl echoes from the direction of the shed. “Lemon Zayle, if you’re not in that house in five seconds…”

Chuckling, I turn and pull the screen door open, disappearing into the depths of his—no, our—home. Walking through the kitchen, I head to the back where Furyon’s been working on something he hasn’t allowed me to see yet. The cottage clatters the kitchen cabinets, drawing my attention to where he’s been working. I know it’s some kind of addition because I can hear the hammering and the slam of wood panels against one another.

He hung a drop cloth over the opening, and I’ve been so good, not even peeking a single time. But now that I have permission…

Sliding the drop cloth to the side, I poke my head through.

My mouth drops open at seeing what lies behind the barrier. It’s a potions room, maybe twenty feet deep and running along the entire back of the house. An arched ceiling highlights gorgeous natural wood beams, which shimmy at me in a friendly way.

“Aren’t you gorgeous?” I whisper, stepping into the room. The floor matches the beams, but the walls are all white, and every damn inch is either windows or deep bookcases. One bookcase holds hundreds of potion bottles we’ve been collecting for the last few weeks.

My heart fills with love and gratitude. It threads its way through my bond with Furyon, and he sends it right back. In fact, he sends me that love all day long every day, warming me from the inside out until I can’t believe this is my real life. I walk along the giant whitewashed wooden table that runs down the center of the room.

“It splits in two if you need to make a walkway down the middle.” Furyon’s voice is soft as he appears behind me.

Laughing, I spin in place. “My, my, Ranger Zayle. It seems you’ve thought of everything.”

He shrugs. “I took the time to learn what you like, mate. And I consider it my privilege and duty to provide those things for you. Which is what I’ll be doing until my very last breath, country girl.” Had to change the nickname since she lives here now.

Slipping my straps fully off my shoulders, I shove my clothing down to the floor and step out. I’ve got on nothing beneath it but the sparkly pink boots, something I promised to tease him with many times.

I hop onto the table and plant one foot flat on it, opening my thighs wide so he can see the pussy he’s so thoroughly claimed, time and again.

“Does this belong to you, Furyon?” Slipping my fingers between my thighs, I rub my pussy lips as his eyes drop to my movements.

He chews on a toothpick held between his lips, slipping his thumbs between his belt loops.

“Mhm.” That’s all he says.

But the sound is so satisfied, so sure. And that’s one of the things I love best about him. Furyon doesn’t waver. He doesn’t second-guess. What he feels is what’s real. And now that our bond is fully in place, through the beauty and gift of my venom, I get to feel his surety too.

I crook my finger at him. “This room is extraordinary, mate.”
