He groans as I move to his middle finger, cleaning every inch with rotating swirls of my long tongue. By the time I’ve got him all cleaned up, his cock’s poking out again, hard and dripping.

Wild falls on top of me, bracketing me between his arms. “You got me going again, little one. Round two?”

Chuckling, I lift my legs and wrap them around him. “Round fucking two, please.”

“Let’s take a look around,” I say to Wild as I stroke his hair. He’s practically snoring on my chest, but now that we’re out here on the farm, I’d like to see more of it when it’s not covered in snow. It’s the first time I’ve been here, and the only part I’ve really seen is, well, the dirt in front of the river on account of being face down in it.

Not that it wasn’t hot as fuck, because it was, but the curious, niggling side of my nature won’t let go of the idea that there could be a key to Pine Gulch somewhere on this land. It’s not like I expect it to be super obvious, but we might as well take a look around.

Wild slowly gets to his feet and offers me his hand. “Willa got you firmly hooked into this key to the city thing, hmm?”

I brush a little bit of dirt off my hands. “You’re not the least bit curious?”

He sucks at his teeth. “Mostly I’m still grappling with it being a wild goose chase, and do I talk to the Sandovals about it? Pretty sure we decided we should, but I’ve been mulling over how to bring that up with Emmer. Any way I slice it, it’s a weird convo.” He gives me a wary look. “What if he just thinks I’m nuts and backs outta the whole deal?”

“I suppose it's possible.” I head for the riverbank and look around, admiring the chunky rocks and sparse grasses that poke up out of the riverbed. “In the gulch on the other side of PG, the mustangs love to eat this grass. I wonder if they come up here. They’ve got free rein, and they’re protected, but now that I think of it, I haven’t seen them out this way.”

Spinning in a circle, I look at the rocky face we walked down to get to the riverbank. It juts up tall in some areas but not as tall in others. Pointing southeast, I lash my tail as I consider that direction. “Let’s go that way.”

Wild laughs. “Lead the way, buckle bunny.”

I head off even as I glance over my shoulder. “You have to admit that was hot as fuck.”

Wild smirks but says nothing even though he’s staring at my ass. I know he is, and I love that for me.

Walking for a few minutes produces no obvious signs of anything related to a key. Then again, we don’t even know what we’re looking for. The Sandovals’ ranch is enormous, and if Willa’s even right about a key being here, it could be anywhere. Still, I’m having a good time pretending like I’m on the hunt for buried treasure.

Half an hour later, Wild is done humoring me. “Let’s get back, baby,” he says softly.

Looking around, I see nothing but the river and a ton of rocks. Disgruntled, I think about one more thing I can try and hop into the middle of the freezing water. It comes up to my mid-thigh and sends a chill up my entire body. I might as well be an icicle, but I’m determined. Spinning slowly, I scan the cliffs as far as I can see, maybe a hundred or so yards in each direction.

Pursing my lips, I twitch my ears and listen for signs of anything unusual…water flowing in a weird direction or scratching or, shit, I don’t even know what I’m listening for. Anything that doesn’t sound like we’re in the middle of nowhere.

After five minutes of freezing my ass off in the river, I admit defeat. Stalking back toward the edge, I prepare to admit it aloud when I see it.

There.

A spot in the rock where two cliff faces overlap and look completely flat. But when I move slightly to one side, there’s a visible opening between them.

“Wild,” I whisper, “right there.” Pointing, I jog out of the water and past him, not looking away lest I lose what I saw. It could mean nothing, be nothing, but what if there’s something?

Running to the rock face, I slip to one side. The two flat rock walls are so close together with other rocks surrounding them, I don’t think you’d even see this if you weren’t standing in that exact spot.

“Holy shit.” Wild’s warm breath coasts over the back of my neck.

“I’m going in,” I bark, shoving my way between the rocks.

“Hold on!” he shouts just as I dip between them and into a chilly, open spot right behind.

“It’s fine, baby,” I call out as he stuffs his way between them. “You barely fit,” I say with a laugh. “Maybe that’s a bad sign because, if I calculate size accurately from photographs, Sipan was a pretty big guy.”

A gruff, grumbly noise is Wild’s only response as he grabs a flashlight from his pocket and clicks it on.

“So hot how you’re always prepared,” I whisper. The words die as light illuminates the walls of the small space we’re in.

“They’re covered in that same green witch language,” Wild murmurs. “Every inch of these walls is covered.”
