Rook felt cold move through him.

“The silver sword belongs to Warden?”

“No.” Sarah’s answer came immediately. “It existed before Warden.”

“Then explain it.”

“My father created the symbol with a group of intelligence officers who believed certain operations needed independent oversight. They called themselves the Silver Sword.”

Rook removed the coin from his pocket.

“You’ve been carrying your father’s symbol.”

“Yes.”

“And Warden used it on Wade’s transfer.”

“Someone inside Warden did.”

“Your father?”

Pain crossed her face.

“He disappeared two years after Wade.”

The room went still.

Rook hadn’t known that.

“Did he die?” he asked.

“I don’t know

Another empty grave.

Another missing man.

Another reason Sarah had spent years operating alone.

“The Silver Sword was meant to expose programs like Warden,” she continued. “Someone must have used the seal to authorize Wade’s transfer without alerting the people controlling the site.”

“An ally inside the program,” Fathom said.

“Possibly.”

“Or someone framing your father’s group,” Sniper added.

Sarah nodded.

She wouldn’t accept the comforting explanation without evidence.

Rook respected that.

Fathom studied the destination code.

“If Black Site Theta is part of a rotating network, the five-year-old location may be useless.”

“Find the current one,” Rook ordered.
