“What we know stays separate from what we suspect,” he said.

“We know Wade’s surviving team possessed knowledge of Nightfall. We know Marcus Lane controlled security for our mission and deleted Sarah’s warning.”

Rook pointed toward the photographs.

“We suspect the two betrayals are part of the same network. We don’t claim more until we prove it.”

Sarah met his eyes.

“Marcus connects both teams.”

“Yes.”

“But that doesn’t mean Nightfall does.”

“Not yet.”

The distinction frustrated her.
