Rook looked around at his team.

“We don’t rescue four. We rescue everyone.”

No one argued.

Not one man.

Sarah’s gaze held his.

Something warm moved through her gray eyes.

Pride.

Trust.

Possibly something more.

Rook turned back to the plans before he could examine that thought too closely.

Fathom opened the interview recording again.

“Wade left another message.”

He froze the image as Wade shifted in his chair.

The movement exposed the underside of his wrist.

Four short lines had been scratched into his skin.

Then three more.

A code.

Sarah leaned closer.

“That’s something our father taught us.”

Henry stared at the marks.

“Silver Sword field notation.”

“What does it say?” Rook asked.

Henry translated each group.

“Not only us.”

The words settled over the warehouse.

Wade had known the interview might escape Warden’s system.

He had marked the warning where guards might mistake it for an injury.

He wasn’t only asking Sarah to find him.

He was telling her about the others.

“He knew you’d understand,” Rook said.
