“He hoped Dad was still alive.”

Henry lowered his head for one moment.

Then the hardened operative returned.

Fathom compared the Theta photographs.

“The same escort appears during three transfers.”

The unidentified man stood beside the military aircraft.

Another photograph showed him outside Site Kestrel.

A third captured him near Black Site Theta.

Same height.

Same posture.

Same deliberate attempt to conceal his face.

Fathom enhanced the clearest image.

Henry moved closer.

Then stopped.

Color drained from his face.

“No.”

Sarah turned toward him. “What?”

Henry pointed toward the escort.

His hand trembled.

“That’s Captain Adrian Shaw.”

“Who is Shaw?” Rook asked.

“He commanded Wade’s field team before Marcus Lane took operational oversight.”

“Where is he now?”

Henry stared at the photograph.

“Adrian died six years ago.”

Silence descended over the warehouse.

“How?” Sniper asked.

“Vehicle explosion in Syria. I identified the remains myself.”

“DNA?” Fathom asked.
