Sarah walked toward the screen.
She stopped in front of the image of the mountain and stared at the facility beneath it.
The place that had stolen five years from her family.
The place where her brother might still be imprisoned.
The place that had taken six good men from mine.
Her father reached for her, but his hand stopped before touching her shoulder.
Perhaps he knew comfort would break the control she was fighting to hold.
Sarah looked at me.
Fear filled her eyes.

The question wasn’t whether we should go.

“I’ll find a way.”
“Then that’s where we’re going,” she said.
Her father turned toward her. “Sarah—”
“He’s alive.”
Her voice broke, but she didn’t look away.
“My brother is alive, and he’s been trapped inside that mountain for five years.”
Her gaze shifted to the memorial photographs.
“And the men who sent Shadow Division there knew exactly what they were doing.”
No one argued.
