Theo chuckles. “The first black woman I kissed had skin like yours.”

“Do you always put your foot in your mouth?” I grumble, giving Theo’s index finger a gentle retaliatory bite. He doesn’t flinch, but he does nod.

“I’m terrible with that stuff. Seriously.”

He flips me onto my back and kisses me again, moving his lips to his neck and then his hand between my legs. I gasp as he touches my lower lips and moves his fingers down there slowly. I’m still wet from all the times tonight we’ve done it and his hand makes me even more sensitive. I’m ready to explode from how good Theo’s hands feel between my legs.

I whimper and my hips buck upwards greedily towards his hands. He massages my clit and begs me to cum until I climax and then he finishes me off again with his lips. When my legs tremble, Theo moves away from me and off the couch. He finds my shirt on the ground and tosses it over.

“I’m walking you back. I’ll wear a disguise. Don’t worry.”

“A disguise?”

“White hoodie, white sweatpants.”

“Are you disguising yourself as a yeti?”

Theo winks at me and I roll my eyes. He grabs my hand and pulls me against him for another kiss. We get dressed slowly, in between kisses and then Theo walks me up to the campus date. He watches me from a distance as I walk into the dorms. I know he watches until I enter because he texts me the entire time.

Theo: I love you.

Theo: It’s only one semester. After that, I’ll shout from the rooftops.

Theo: I’ll fight for you, Sylvia. You’re the one.

I push Clover’s bedroom door open and she’s sitting on her bed with Thomas. They both look all innocent, but don’t I know that fake innocent look.

“Did y’all just hook up?”

Thomas leans over and kisses Clover on the cheek.

“Nope,” Thomas replies. “Did you just hook up with someone?”

Chapter Fifty-One

Clover

“Shut up!” Sylvia says suspiciously. “Can we stop talking about hooking up?”

“You’re shit at secrets,” Thomas snorts.

“Clover?”

I elbow Thomas hard in the stomach. He groans and then puts his arms over my shoulder. Sylvia notices, but she doesn’t react. For once, I don’t throw Thomas off my shoulders. He’s warm. He smells nice and he’s not being a complete asshole, despite dropping my ass on the ground while we kissed.

I’m slowly forgiving him for that.

“Can we get a new plan going?” Sylvia says. “I’m worried about Kola and I’m doing everything I can to help her.”

“Does shagging Theo help her?”

Sylvia takes a book off my desk and throws it at Thomas’ head. Don’t worry, I put those books there in case we needed to throw them at his head. I rest my head on Thomas’ shoulder after Sylvia misses and he mutters an apology.

“Is that really where you were?” I ask her.

“Can you two keep a secret?”

“We already know,” Thomas says. “So we really ought to talk about Kola.”
