"You'll see," I answer honestly. The ball is snapped and Jake throws it to Jaxon. I pulverize my opponent into the ground. "Scarlett sends her regards."

“Who?” He groans out as he gets up.

We shut out Ole Miss and won by 21. Jennings had to be carried off the field in the last half. Maybe next time, he'll think before trying to talk to what's mine. My girl meets me at the gate and gives me a big victory hug.

"So this is the Scarlett I've heard so much about?" My blood runs cold. Daddy dearest. Fuck.

She stiffens in my arms. "Hello, Mr. Creed."

"May I talk to you alone, honey?" He puts on the billionaire-bought thousand-watt smile.

"No, sir. Respectfully, whatever you need to say, Axel can hear. Although, he's already warned me about all you'll try to do. I don't want your money, and I'm recording this conversation, so don't try anything funny." She replies with her head held high.

That's my girl. "Dad. Don't."

"Or what, son? You won't make it a day without me." Yeah. I will.

She places her hand on my chest to calm me. Thankfully, it works. She steps in front of me. "Sir, what's so wrong with us being together?"

He laughs, cold and unfeeling. "Because people like you don't belong with people like us."

"D—n," she puts her hand over my mouth so I can't speak.

"Don't you ever put Axel in the same category as you? He's perfect, despite how you tried to raise him. And no matter what you think, I'm not less than because I'm not a size two. Beauty can be found in any number." She turns around and kisses me on the cheek. "I'll be waiting for you at the car."

I watch her leave with mixed emotions. Sadness settles in my chest because this may be the last time I ever speak with my father, but happiness eventually wins out. As long as Scarlett is by my side, I have a future. "Dad, you can cut me off or whatever you want to do, but she's a part of my future. The ball is in your court. You decide where you belong in my life."

Giving him one last look, shaking my head and walk in the direction of where my tomorrow is.

Chapter 27

Fraternity Row

Axel showed Scarlett his wild side, and it didn't look like she was too scared. Where is Scarlett's Knight in Shining Axel?

Scarlett

The only thing Axel says when he gets in the car is that he's sorry his dad is such an asshole. The gang has decided to get ready for the Fraternity Row victory party at Fearless House. When we are alone in his room, I place my hand firmly on his chin and make him look at me. Sometimes, the roles have to change. "Axel, you don't ever have to apologize for somebody else. You can't help who your parents are. They don't deserve to call you son."

He takes my hand off his cheek and plants a kiss in the palm of my hand. Then he gives me that signature smirk of his that never fails to make me weak in the knees. "Let's go party, baby, because after that, you're going to fuck my face."

He laughs as my face turns red. "Shut up, you psycho."

Jared puts me in cheetah print jeans that hug my ass and a black flowy see-through blouse. I'm wearing a black bra underneath the top. He curls and teases my hair, making me look every bit the seductress. Jared is wearing tight jeans and a button-up collar shirt. He looks like perfected sin.

Speaking of sin, Axel walks through the door, and the smile on his face drops. His sensual gaze moves up and down my body. "I'm going to have to punch so many faces tonight."

Jared claps his hands together. "You're welcome. I did a great job with our Scar."

Yes, he did. Axel's words melt me, and I reward him by wrapping my arms around my lover's neck. "Hello, lover."

His intense gaze softens. "Hi." He leans down and rubs his nose on my neck. He loves to smell me.

Jared, being Jared, has to comment. "Y'all are going to make me throw up, and we don't have time for you to have sex. We have festivities to attend. So BYE!" And he quite rudely pushes us out the door.

I've only ever been to a Fraternity Row party once, and it didn't turn out so well. Janet was there and made everything about her, which was a total shocker. Then she embarrassed me in front of this hot guy I had been talking to, so yeah, not the best time of my life. Jaxon and Jared ride with us, and the fraternity houses are all lit up tonight, each proudly displaying their Greek letters on the lawn. The traffic is slow, car horns are simultaneously going off, and the street is lined with people walking with red solo cups in their hands. Most are wearing the orange and white of the longhorn nation.
