After a strained minute, Vrix heaved a great sigh, flopping onto the bed, his chest rising and falling in rapid succession.
“I will be good,” he said, his eyes squeezing shut, his claws twisting into the sheets at his sides.
Giselle observed him, not daring to move, even though her cunt ached with desperation.
After a few minutes of strained silence, she placed her hand on his shoulder, giving him a light squeeze. Vrix’s eyes jolted open, but slowly his mouth curled into a gentle smirk, his pupils back to normal.
“I will be alright,” he said, and her smile beamed through the room.
Thase stepped up to the bed, matching their grins, laying down next to Vrix and nuzzling him into his chest.
“Such a good boy. I’m so proud of you.”
Emotion settled in her throat, tears dotting her eyes. Such a sweet moment from the aliens she’d considered beasts not long ago. The way they cared for each other was clear, even with Thase’s acidity.
Vrix sighed into Thase’s touch, but not before pulling Giselle into his arms, a tangled cuddle that connected her to the Dalgurs.
Arousal still thrummed through her, but she figured it could wait for another time. As far as she knew, there would be plenty more opportunities to come. And right now, she was happy to be safe in Vrix’s arms.
CHAPTER 14
THE DAYS SLIPPED BY like leaves on a gentle breeze, the memory of Vrix’s assault fading farther into the past.
He still wore the collar, and Giselle was glad of it, though her fear had waned, the Dalgur making no move to touch her without her permission.
The three of them walked to the grotto on most days, playing in the water and collecting slearo. There were other foods she could eat too, purple stalks that tasted kind of like broccoli, orange flowers with a distinct peppery aroma, and another soft fruit that reminded her of a spicy peach. The neogel still provided most of her energy, but it was nice to have some variety.
Thase led them on long strolls along the white sand beach. Giselle only waded into the sea if Thase or Vrix were with her, afraid of what strange beasts might be lying in wait under the water.
The setting of the dual suns was beautiful. Each evening, they sat on the cliff in front of the house, watching them dip low until they disappeared under the horizon, the sky a kaleidoscope of pastels.
The Dalgurs seemed to be dancing around her, neither one attempting to make a move, even after Vrix had passed his test. She had to tell Thase she was comfortable with his gentle touches, letting him slink his arms around her middle and hold her flush to his chest, his fingers brushing through her hair.
Thase was entirely changed, so different from the sexual beast she’d encountered on the Starlet. There’d been nothing but sweet caresses as they lay in bed each night, nothing like the desperate way they’d ravaged her when she’d first met her alien abductors.
The way he pressed his version of a kiss to her lips and neck was… pleasing. But maybe a part of her ached for the both of them, wanted them, needed the harsh brutality of what had happened on the ship. It was a relief to know that they could control themselves, but perhaps she wanted them to let go again.
Giselle sighed as she leaned against Thase’s chest, her eyes on the setting suns. They were two orange orbs hovering over the horizon, a sight she’d never get tired of. Vrix squeezed her hand, and she turned, smiling at him as he sat beside them.
“Thase?” she asked, whose arms wrapped tightly across her chest.
“Yes, dear one?”
“Do you think Vrix could have the collar removed?”
It had been days since the test, and though she’d never forget the erotic scene from the grotto, she felt like Vrix had done his penance.
“If that is your wish. Will you behave yourself, Vrix?”
He nodded eagerly, an overlarge smile on his face.
“Yes, of course! I will be good, I promise!”
Giselle bit her lip, watching as Thase unlatched the metal collar from Vrix’s neck and lay it on the ground beside them.
“Thank you, sweet human,” Vrix said. His eyes darted to the setting suns before returning to her. “Can I kiss you?”
She’d let him do no more than hug her in the days since the test, but the sweet anticipation in his voice was too much to resist.
