“I know how to jack my body, but how the fuck do I make a car dance?” This time, my eyes opened just as wide as my mouth. “What? You know I don’t know how to do this shit.” You can tell he was getting frustrated. Getting on the ground with him, I showed him.
“Here, take this and put it here.” His hands were fumbling at first, but he was a great listener, so we had finally finished up. Seeing my hands was full of grease right along with his shirt, I wiped my hands off on him.
“Oh, you got me fucked up.” Grabbing me, he picked me up, slammed me on the car, then wiped his hands on my cheeks before kissing me. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, but now you owe me again.”
“Damn, your ass stay begging for something. What you want now?”
“I wanna see you jack your body. What the fuck is that?” He let me go, and started grabbing the tools putting them away. “Don’t walk off now. Is it a masturbation dance?” This time, he laughed.
“I’m telling Pops what you said. He already don’t like yo ass, and now you disrespecting his heritage.”
“Wait, so you telling me killers and gang bangers are in Chicago jacking their body on dance floors?” His head fell back he laughed so hard.
“Naw, it’s an old school dance. They used to do that shit at house parties. That and the percolator.” I could honestly say I was speechless. We climbed in the car and got back rolling. “If you win your real fight, I’ll show you.” I wanted to say if I ever get one, but I kept quiet. Grabbing my phone, I searched jack your body and a video came up. As soon as I pressed play, his head whipped around and tried to grab my phone. I laughed so hard I had tears coming down my face.
“Baby, ain’t no way you be doing this dance.”
“Fuck you!” Was all he said while wearing a big ass smile on his face. I don’t care what I had to do because I would give anything to see him do this dance. Connected my phone to Bluetooth, I turned the song completely up trying to mimic the dance. Landon shook his head and just smiled at me.
“You not doing it right.”
“Then show me?”
“Soon.” Hearing him say that, made me realize he believed I was ready. Saying when I win my fight, and then soon. He thought I was better, and thought the others would too. That one word was better than any date he could have ever planned. Smiling, I went back to dancing.
21- Landon “Mercer” Breaker
I sat in the backseat scrolling my phone, but I wasn’t looking at anything. I was nervously waiting for a call. I needed tonight to go perfectly, but it all boiled down to one thing. Without it, the shit wouldn’t hit the same. Ariyah asked me for a date with Landon, now it was time to show her the benefits of being Breaker. Tonight’s date was going to show her that having both wasn’t so bad. My ringing phone sent excitement through my body.
“Pops, did you get it done?” I asked frantically.
“Yeah, you’re good.”
“Thanks.” I hung up before he could say anything else. We still hadn’t talked about our argument, and I wasn’t about to ruin tonight’s mood with the shit. Knowing everything was in place, I grabbed the bag I had on the seat with me and climbed out the car. Titan stood outside, while I walked to the door. Ringing the bell, I waited for someone to answer. Charly pulled the door open, and immediately began giggling.
“This is so exciting. I can’t wait to get the call later. Well, tomorrow. If you don’t get some tonight, you’re not as good as I think you are.”
“Is that what you think?” This fool closed her eyes leaving me confused.
“Wait, I didn’t mean it. Please don’t hit me Mr. Boxer man. I didn’t see that it was you. Look, my eyes not even open.” Shaking my head, I pushed the bag in her arms.
“Charly, you are a piece of work. Make sure she puts this on, and be down here in twenty minutes. Tick tock.” Charly’s eyes flew open as if she thought I was threatening her. She took off running, and fell up the stairs. Looking back at me, she apologized again.
“I’m sorry. Don’t count those seconds.” Laughing, I turned and went back to the car.
“Wait on her to come out,” I instructed Titan to stay outside. Getting in, I looked over the gift boxes I had making sure not a bow was out of place. I checked my AP every two minutes, until she finally walked out the door. You could tell she was confused and excited at the same time. I watched every movement she made. Ariyah was perfect in every way. Her tank that said Nova, her joggers, and Nike boxing boots all looked exactly how I pictured. Yeah, this was the style she always wore, but mine had an unspoken message. Her name was across the shirt, while the joggers and boots were an undisputed edition from Canelo’s line. She got in the car with a million questions.
“What is all this?”
“Can your man just do something nice for you?” I could tell she wanted to argue against it, and I could literally see the conflict on her face. She didn’t know how to respond.
“Landon-…”
“Naw, you had that nigga the other night. Breaker’s open.” Using her words saying I was closed back at her, I laughed as she mugged me. Ariyah fidgeted around before she found her next question.
“Why are you dressed up, but got me looking like I’m going to fight? And how did you find these boots? I searched high and low when they dropped. They sold out.” Smiling, I shrugged.
