He really hated that Sascha was included in this deadly business. “Are you going to be all right?” he asked her.
He was glad she was staying with him rather than at the apartment, where she didn’t have any real security.
“Yeah. He’s not going to get to me. I’m calling the ladies about our getaway.”
Sascha didn’t want to worry Gregory about the caller, but she couldn't help being upset that the guy had her phone number and had called her. She wasn’t about to put off her plan to do something fun with the ladies before the wedding though.
“Two of the bodyguards will come with me. The other bodyguards will go with you and the ladies. Where are you going to go?”
She decided that a trip to a lake might not be as fun as somewhere a little more exotic. “South Padre Island.”
“Okay.”
“Do you want us to be closer to home?” she asked.
“No, you’ll have fun.”
Lunch was ready, and they ate, then Sascha got on her phone and set up a group call with the ladies. “Hey, does South Padre Island sound like a good location for our bachelorette party?”
Everyone was excited about it.
“You can make reservations for the house, but we’re going to come up with the games and activities,” Kat said.
“What about bodyguards?” Mrs. Landry asked.
“Gregory will send some with us.”
“When will we go?” Lucy asked.
“After the weekend fair. We’ll drive down on Monday.”
“Or we could fly down on a private jet. That might be safer,” Mrs. Landry said.
It was an eight-and-a-half-hour drive otherwise.
“Yeah, sure, that would be great,” Sascha said. “That will give us more time to play.”
“I’ll make arrangements for the flight down there and back,” Mrs. Landry said.
When Sascha got off the phone with them, she made reservations at a rental home that could accommodate all five women, with a bedroom and bathroom for each. And then she took hold of Gregory’s hand since he was finished with his call. “Let’s go swimming.”
Now that was one thing she was really glad Gregory had. A beautiful pool. If she hadn’t wanted to do something different and special with the ladies, she would have just had the bachelorette party at the mansion.
“I’m good with that.” He called out to Henry and Nick. “I’m hiring another bodyguard to assist you.”
“We know another man who was in the service with us. He’s a good man. You can do a background check on him and see what you think,” Henry said.
“Yeah, Omar,” Nick said.
“Maria, take down his full name and have my PI investigate him.”
“I sure will, sir.”
Then Gregory and Sascha went up the stairs to his bedroom.
They dressed in their swimsuits; she threw on a cover-up, and then they headed down the stairs.
When they reached the bottom step, Nick was waiting for them.
