When they arrived at the miniature golf course, they paid the fees and then selected their clubs. One other family was playing near the end of the course when the women started on the first hole. Sascha went first, then Kat, Mrs. Landry, Aunt Meg, Lucy, and Rose.

The guys all waited for them to finish their putting green, laughing while the ladies chuckled. Sascha hit her ball nearly making a hole-in-one, but when she got closer, she missed the hole twice. She shook her head at herself.

Rose got a hole-in-one, and everyone cheered her. No more picking up her ball and sticking it in the hole.

“How often do you play this?” Sascha asked as they moved on to the next course, around a large water feature.

“Rarely,” Rose said. “But at least now I’m actually doing it right and not just sticking the ball in the hole when I can’t hit it in with the golf club.” She glanced back at her dad.

Smiling, he saluted her.

They all had varying degrees of success at knocking the ball into the hole in as few shots as they could. Aunt Meg was the scorekeeper, and they were having a blast.

“Hole in one!” Aunt Meg said, doing a little dance. She was so excited that everyone laughed and congratulated her.

The guys were on the course behind them, laughing just as much.

“Hole in one!” Prescott said.

Kat laughed and glanced back at him, giving him a thumbs-up.

Then Gregory got a hole-in-one.

“Woohoo, that’s great!” Gregory’s dad said.

Sascha was glad that they didn’t play with the guys! She gave him a thumbs-up.

They enjoyed the splashing of a waterfall and walked across a wooden bridge to the next course.

They had to shoot through a tunnel, and then it went down to another level, and they had to knock it into a hole there on the green.

They were on the ninth hole, and the guys were waiting on them again. But they were just playing their course over again, for the fun of it, since nobody was behind them.

Kat was having a lot of trouble hitting the ball because of her expanding belly. So she had the worst score. But she didn’t mind. She just laughed it off.

Then they finally moved to the tenth hole, and the guys were able to go to the course the women had been on.

Sascha accidentally knocked her ball hard against the border, and it skipped over it, rolling down onto the guys’ course below, and everyone laughed. Gregory got it for her, ran up the steps and around the long, curved fairway to where she was, handed her the purple golf ball, and gave her a hug and a kiss.

“I did that on purpose,” she said.

“Yeah, I knew you had, just so you could get a hug and kiss.”

“For sure.”

“I should have done that,” Kat said. “But I probably would have ended up hitting one of you guys.”

The ladies and Gregory laughed.

“This has been fun,” Gregory said, then headed back down to make his play on his putting green.

Sascha finished her play and managed to get her ball in the hole with just one more stroke.

When the ladies had finally finished the eighteenth hole, their balls disappeared into the hole for good since they were done with the golf course.

They waited and watched the guys on their final hole. They were trying so hard to impress the ladies. None of the guys got a hole-in-one, but they finally hit the balls into the tunnel and were done.

Then they all went to the parking lot, deciding to change clothes at their respective rental houses before heading to the pub to dance.
