I didn’t even want to deal with that shit for real. She wasn’t trying to budge, and neither was I, but Dre was right. Maybe I needed to try to talk to her nice. I turned the wheel down this street with a bunch of different restaurants on each side, and I could believe my eyes.
I saw Nylah.
I laughed to myself, kinda feeling like God was playing with me.
She looked real good standing on the sidewalk. I thought she was waiting for her girl, but then I saw a nigga walk up to her, rest his hand on her waist, and they walked inside.
I wasted no time. I turned the wheel and parked quick. That shit with Mariah was going to wait.
I watched through the window. Her hourglass frame filled out the silk, light green dress that she had on. They were quickly greeted and led to a table. All eyes were on her as she walked through.
That’s how I wanted my shorty to be.
I hopped outta my whip and walked across the street and into the restaurant. The lady looked at me and tried to smile and greet me, but I walked straight past her before she could even open her mouth. As I walked up to their table, my eyes were locked on him, and Nylah’s back was toward me.
They were talking. I could hear her laughing, and then I stood on the side of the table. Nylah looked up at me, and the smile on her face quickly melted away.
“So, this is what we do?” I asked calmly.
She rolled her eyes. “Rosama, what are you doin’ here?”
“Is this your man?” the nigga asked.
“Nah, I'm not her man yet,” I said to him before looking back at her. “I was in your neighborhood and saw you come in here. I'm glad you okay ‘cause you been dodging a nigga like crazy.”
Nylah exhaled hard. “Rosama, I will hit you later. Don’t do this right now.”
“Yo,” the nigga she was sitting with said. “I don’t think she wants to see you right now.”
“Nigga…do it look like I give a fuck?”
He stood up. “But she is with me right now, so go ahead before I put you out of here.”
I looked at the clown nigga up and down.
“Nigga, I don’t give a fuck if she was with Obama. She is gonna give me her attention.”
The nigga tried to push up on me, and I was quick to reach for my Glock, but Nylah stepped in.
“Hey! Yo!” she said, standing up. “Chad, sit down,” she said to him. She grabbed my arm and pulled me.
I walked outside with her, and she crossed her hands ova her chest.
“What?” I asked, laughing.
“How the fuck are you gonna embarrass me like that?”
“I didn’t embarrass you,” I said with a smirk. “I didn’t pick the nigga you was sittin’ across from.”
She tried to hide her laugh, but it didn’t work.
“You are fuckin’ crazy—”
“And you keep dodging me. You see God is pullin’ us together, right? I had a drop in the X, and you just so happened to be out.”
She shook her head. “Nigga, what do you want from me?”
“A date, right now.”
