Minutes drift into hours as I lay there, waiting for him to come back. Eventually, after an eternity, he arrives. Luka doesn’t say a word to me as he wrenches the wood free. The moment it leaves my chest, I gasp, air filling my lungs for the first time in far too long.

“Fledglings,” he spits out before once more leaving me in the room alone.

Reaching down, I feel the gaping hole, my stomach plummeting as I feel the exposed skin. I feel everything - the pain from where I was impaled and the sting of his cum as I blink my eyes over the crusty remains. It’s agony, worse since I don’t have the pleasure of my men making it all worth it.

Crawling over to the bed, I force myself into it and drag the covers over. Closing my eyes is nearly impossible as I force the lids past the gritty film. It feels like sandpaper, only it’s a million times worse. Finally, I’m able to drift off to sleep, fitful as it is.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Katrina

I stare at the wall, counting the bricks for the umpteenth time. No one sees me except to drop off a glass of blood then leave. For some reason, being ignored like this is worse than Luka just coming on me and leaving. It’s agony being separated from my two lovers, and that’s the lesson they’re probably driving home.

No one even speaks in my mind, leaving me completely alone with my thoughts. Leaning down, I take another sip of blood, nearly gagging at the cold, coagulated texture. It’s all the worst aspects of jello mixed with an odd, sour, metallic scent that makes me nearly hurl every time the smell hits me.

It’s nothing like lapping at the living blood as it dripped from the body. She’s still there in the corner, her corpse starting to decompose. The scent from that is even worse than the blood. Pinching my nose, I attempt to suck up some more of the…nourishment…but even that doesn’t help. It takes several more minutes, but I finally drink it all.

Though the hunger feels sated for the moment, it does nothing to abate the mental and physical hunger still swirling beneath the surface. Reaching down, I finger the hole, noting its size getting smaller with each drink they bring me. Perhaps that alone is worth the gagging and heaving.

Lying back, I once more pull the covers up and count the tiles. It doesn’t exactly help me get back to sleep, but it’s soothing now, something expected, predictable. Though the boredom itself is killing me, it’s honestly the loneliness that destroys me the most.

I have nothing to do but really think through my moral compass. Is killing people or, at the very least drinking from them, worth the company of my lovers? The word “yes” flits through my brain, but it doesn’t exactly sound like either one of them. It sounds like something else, something slithering deep inside me.

It’s terrifying even as there’s this hypnotic pull to it. Groaning, I bury my face in the covers, forcing the voice out. It’s becoming so much stronger as the days go by, and I’m worried it’s just insanity creeping in.

Rough hands grab me, hauling me out of bed. Darkness surrounds me as I open my eyes. It’s different from the first time looking into the darkness as a vampire. There’s something covering them. I can finally feel the rasp of fabric over my face. Scenting the air, I draw in the familiar smell of Luka, and instantly my fear dissipates.

I don’t care what he plans to do to me; at least he’s here, touching me. The temperature changes as we ascend a ramp, the air becoming warmer, almost muggy. Water splashing pricks my ears, and my unease begins to grow again. If they were going to kill me, they would have already done it instead of letting me heal.

It doesn’t matter what I say. The apprehension only grows. It doesn’t help that I can feel Luka’s anger rising next to me the longer we’re together. His fingers rip off the blindfold, and he stares at me, his lips pulled down into an angry frown.

“What the hell is it with you and Jackson and your constant fear of getting killed. I swear, your thoughts are swamped with it. I wouldn’t fucking turn you if I was going to just kill you.” Straightening, he motions for someone behind me, and my heart warms as Jackson’s presence fills the space.

With both of them here, it just feels right. They both seem to possess part of my soul, and when one is gone, there’s an ache, a phantom itch, as if part of my limb is missing, but I can still feel where it should be. Luka’s frown softens as he slides his palm to my cheek.

“I am going to teach you to never fear death. Both of you.” Glancing over my shoulder, he gives Jackson a stern look. A nervous giggle erupts from my lips but is soon quelled when that heated look slides over to me. Even with all his ferocity, Luka is still a sight to behold.

I restrain myself from reaching out and touching the cool marble of his skin, of skimming my lips against the frigid exterior until he becomes pliant and warm to my touch.

“As much as I would love to indulge your wayward thoughts, Kotenok, I’m afraid you have nothing with which to warm me. You are as cold as I am. But no worry, we will all be warm soon.”

His enigmatic words swirl around in my head as he leads me over to a massive tub. The size is so large it’s almost like an above-ground pool. Steam rises from the top, the warm tendrils dancing about my skin, sending shivers down my spine.

“You both are far too consumed with the morbidity of your own demise. Today, we rectify that situation.” He jumps into the tub, sending a wave of water over the side. It runs down the glossy black surface to disappear into the floor. “Jackson, you will join me on the opposite side.”

Without waiting for his answer, Luka turns to me and motions me forward. Jackson climbs in, groaning as the hot water laps at his sculpted body. My mouth waters, and my pussy spasms as I watch the two reclining, their hooded gazes on me.

It’s not just the fact that I’ve been without them for so long. Deep down, I know that even if I had sex with them every day, it still wouldn’t be enough. My blood sings at the stark arousal etched on their faces, no doubt fueled by the scent of my desire.

“Climb inside facing me.” Luka’s voice is raspy, thick with need. Perhaps they’ve missed me as much as I’ve missed them?

As soon as I settle into the water, Luka reaches out, his hand grasping me by the hair with a sharp grip that won’t let go. The only way to escape him is to tear my own hair out, but that doesn’t feel appealing either. Before I can breathe, he shoves my head under the warm water, impaling me on his hardened cock.

The discomfort of water filling my mouth is soon overridden by the hunger that slams into me. Once his dick is in my mouth, I can’t help but suck on him, even as the need to breathe battles within my lungs. After a few moments, the novelty wears off, and panic sets in.

I struggle beneath the surface, my fingers clawing at his hands in a desperate attempt to break his hold. I need to breathe. I need to get air, but he won’t let up. Jackson’s shouts are muffled by the churning water, but he’s at least trying to talk some sense into Luka.
