I’m so close I can almost taste it, though. It shimmers just out of reach, as if I could just pull my

fingers away from my body and touch it.

“I’m going to do a soft suspension. Are you ready?” His words are quiet, almost a murmur next to

my ear.

I can hear him, but he sounds so far away. I nod my head, grinning like an idiot. At this point, I

wouldn’t care if he put me upside down, anything to get to that high I know is coming. He shuffles

around until his face is level with mine. His eyes dart back and forth as they look at me, assessing

whether or not I’m good to go.

“How you holding up? You doing okay?”

Another grin splits my lips as I smile up at him. “Never better.”

Master Dillon tries to stifle a laugh, but a small chuckle manages to escape his lips. “What color

are you?”

“Green. So, so green.”

“Very good.” Standing back up, he reaches above my head and grabs one of the ropes dangling

there, pulling it in front of my vision to show me before kneeling on the floor to attach it to my ankle.

With Master Dillon no longer in my field of vision, Black Light comes into stark view. No one

else really seems to be paying attention to us, which suits me just fine. However, when my gaze

moves over the bar, my breath catches in my throat as I realize someone is paying attention—and he’s

one of the most gorgeous men I’ve ever seen.

He sits there, casual, with a drink in his hand, but his gaze never leaves me. Even when he brings

the glass up to his lips, he sips it while staring at me, savoring it, as if he were savoring me. His

tongue juts out for a brief moment, licking away an errant drop of whatever he’s drinking, and for a

moment, my knees nearly buckle.

Thankfully Master Dillon hasn’t done anything to lift me into the air, because I’m sure I’d be

flailing about at this moment. Not a good look when I’m trying to size up this other man, which makes

me feel a bit guilty. I should be paying attention to Master Dillon, but this man’s attention feels like a

spotlight, like he’s evaluating me, and I desperately want him to see me at my best. It’s a core reaction

that surges through me as I try my best to re-center my thoughts on the scene at hand.

Hot damn. I’ve never had this type of visceral reaction to anyone before, and I’m not sure why it’s

happening now. Perhaps it’s the haughty quirk of his lips, that knowing look as he stares me down.
