He scrunches his nose up in disgust. “This face. Why did you make it?”

“I… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to offend you.”

“But you did.” He storms into the room and grabs my arms. I scream as he drags me from the bed. My body flops onto the ground, hard.

“I’m sorry!” I scream. Dante doesn’t come which tells me Dante isn’t here. I’m on my own.

Why would I even want Dante to come anyway? He’s taken me prisoner. He’s not my savior.

Edward slams his fist right into my cheek. Pain radiates into my head, making me woozy. “If I want to touch you, then I have that right.”

“Please,” I sob.

He kicks me in the stomach. Pain isn’t an accurate enough word to describe what I’m feeling.

When Edward pulls his foot back to kick me again, I push myself to my feet and take off running down the hallway. I make it to the foyer before he grabs me and throws me onto the hard marble floor. And that’s when he starts kicking me. And kicking me.

I’m not even sure where exactly he’s hurting me. It’s just… everywhere.

I cough up blood. It splatters onto the white floor. A stark contrast in color.

“You know what’s terrible? Dante invited me to that party last night. And he denied me the chance to touch you. You looked disgusted at the thought of me touching you. That hurt, you know. You should really consider other people’s feelings.” Kick right to my back. “But you didn’t do that.” Kick to my stomach. “You thought I was disgusting. Who’s disgusting now?” Kick to my face.

It all just hurts. Everywhere. Anywhere.

There’s no end to it.

The sound of a car outside makes Edward stop. “Shit. He’s back.” Edward runs away from me and out the back door.

Dante enters and freezes when he sees me on the floor. “Sienna.” He’s methodical as he walks towards me. “What happened?”

I can only cry from all the pain.

He kneels down beside me and looks me over. From his expression, I can tell it’s not good. “Who did this to you?”

“Ed… Edward.”

Dante’s eyes darken into a fury I haven’t seen from him yet. Thankfully, it’s not directed at me. “That motherfucker. You need help. I have a private doctor I can take you to.” He tries picking me up but I cry out from the pain. “Shit. Ok.” He pulls his phone out and calls someone. The doctor. “You need to get here. As soon as you can. I need help. A bad injury. Get here.” He hangs up and tosses his phone to the side. “Sienna?”

“It hurts,” I moan. “It hurts.”

“I know. But I called my doctor. He’s on his way. He’ll help you. I promise.”

Dante waits by my side until the doctor arrives. It feels like an eternity.

The doctor is a middle aged man with a kind, unassuming face. After kneeling down beside me, he looks over my injuries. “Ok. She needs serious help. She could have internal bleeding. A concussion. Who knows? Do you know what happened?”

“She hasn’t said.”

“Kicked…” I force myself to say. “He kicked me.”

The doctor flicks his eyes to Dante.

“It wasn’t me,” Dante snaps. “It was one of my men. Edward.”

“I never liked him.”

“I don’t fucking care. Just help her.”
