“Yes…”
He led me to his room, but I didn’t see anything about it, except the bed with sheets and blankets all rucked up as if he’d only rolled out of it moments ago. He sat on the edge of the bed, and I moved to straddle him, while he slowly leaned back across the bed. One of his pillows fell onto his face, and he tossed it aside. The entire bed smelled like him and his expensive products, a little sweet and a little chemical, as if the sheets had been dowsed in his essence. “Let’s get your shirt off.” I tugged at the bottom, and he leaned up so I could pull it over his head.
“You too.”
I smirked and pulled my T-shirt over my head. He gazed over my bare chest and abs before walking his fingers back up them and tweaking a nipple. I hissed at the quick burst of sensation. Every single thing he did excited me more. Especially when he leaned up and kissed my stomach, swiping his tongue over my belly button. “Damn, Ever.”
I needed to get this moving before I lost control. As if I actually had any in the first place. I tugged his pants until I had him naked beneath me, then I shed mine as well and lay beside him. Needing to take my time with him, I rubbed over his shoulders, down his sides, and to his hip. Threading my fingers through his hair again, I kissed him. He had natural California-boy good looks, and although he was mostly grumpy, I could see through it to an interior as gorgeous as his exterior.
I trailed my kisses away from his lips and down his neck, over his collar bones, and to his shoulder before dropping down his chest. It was my turn to make him hiss when I nipped his nipple with my teeth. With a chuckle at his reaction, I kissed even lower, mouthing over his stomach and right down those sexy V-lines to his groin.
He gasped when I flicked the tip of my tongue over the slit in his dick. And moaned deeply when I sucked him fully into my mouth. The different noises he made spurred me on to see what other sounds I could wrangle out of him. I massaged his balls as I worked him over with my mouth, slobbering all over him and my fingers, but once my fingers were coated, I slipped one down his taint, searching for his hole.
Everett lifted his legs, exposing himself and making his entrance easier to get to. I quickly took advantage of that and slid a finger inside him. More delicious sounds came from him as I finger fucked him while sucking him off until he moaned louder than ever and called my name, adding multiple syllables to it. “Cam-err-ahh…on.”
That was probably his warning, but I didn’t care. I swallowed everything he offered up as he came. When he finished, his entire body relaxed and he sighed. Mission accomplished.
I kissed him on the head, then snuggled next to him.
“Cameron, let me…” He started to get up, but I shoved his shoulder back to the mattress.
“Next time. Just relax now.” I reached around him and grabbed a blanket to pull over us. Despite my hard-on, I was relaxed and satisfied. It only took a few minutes for my dick to settle down enough to let me drift off to sleep.
Chapter twenty-five
The Talk with the Sheriff – Everett
It was interesting waking up next to Cameron. Some time in the night, we shifted our bodies over, getting our feet under the covers and our heads at the pillows, but I didn’t remember doing it, or moving at all. After that amazing blow job, my body shut down. I’d been more exhausted than I’d thought. But come morning, and I was wide awake, and so was Cameron. In fact, he was watching me sleep. “Good morning.”
I smiled with a closed mouth—morning breath. “It is. Seeing you still here.”
He did have to go back to work though, not really able to miss another day, and I understood that all too well, even if I didn’t get that kind of paycheck. But he called the sheriff, asking him to come over to talk to me before he got up, got coffee, and got dressed. In that order.
He was out the door too soon with nothing more than a kiss and a promise to call. I could have gone for round two, but Cameron didn’t have time. So I was left to wait for Sheriff Clay with my own coffee in hand.
Clay West was a big guy, hardy, and very nice but with a no-nonsense air about him. “Come on in, Sheriff.”
“Thank you. I understand you want to talk about some trouble going on at your brewery?”
“Uh, yeah. Yes, sir, I mean, but I don’t know if I’d call it trouble exactly.”
“What would you call it?”
“Hmm. Please sit.” I gestured to the couch, and he sat on the edge rather than getting comfortable. “Well, seems like someone is fu—uh, messing with me. At first, I thought it was Cameron gaslighting me.”
“That ain’t Cameron. I’ve known him since he was a boy. Let’s look at someone else.”
“I actually agree with you. Now, I mean, and I like Cameron a lot, but I have nothing else. And frankly, he’s been the only other person in the center of all this. I met him when he was messing with my tap at Pints.” I went on to explain how Cameron had proximity to every event, including the fire. He’d uncannily appeared out of nowhere to save me.
He still shook his head. “That’s all very circumstantial. Let’s explore who else might want your business to fail. Who has a grudge?”
“No one.” I held my hands up. “I’ve been racking my brain to figure it out, but I’m coming up empty. And not just that. Who would have access to the brewery? Slashed tires and fake orders are one thing, but someone had to have been inside to ruin that beer and set the fire.”
“What about Lukas Rodbell?” He looked at his notepad as he spoke.
“No. No way. I’ve known him a long time and he has invested a lot in the brewery as well.”
“The fire is definitely arson.”
