“We should probably make that happen too.” He moved in a new rhythm that left her trembling as she built, layers upon layers of pleasure until her whole body tensed with anticipation and she could hardly breathe.

“Come with me,” she encouraged, tugging on his lip as she locked her legs tighter, pushing him deeper yet, loving to watch as he teetered on the edge. “Kiss me,” she whispered.

He captured her mouth, forgetting to play his tongue with hers as his breathing changed. He moved faster, pumping harder, holding her gaze.

“Come with me,” she said again before she bit back a loud cry, hitting flashpoint and letting herself go, as he groaned, shuddering with his own orgasm.

His ragged pants filled her ear and warmed her skin as he rested his head in the crook of her neck.

She hugged him hard. “I’m pretty sure I might have let myself scream if we were at home.”

He lifted his head and grinned. “Gwen said Liam should be back in a couple of days.”

She snagged her lip with her teeth and smiled. “That’s good to hear.”

“I’ll start counting the minutes until I can get you back in our bed.”

She chuckled.

He kissed her, long and deep, easing away when a commotion started downstairs and Nate’s sisters’ voices carried upstairs. “We should get dressed and head down.”

“Mmm. If my mom wasn’t visiting, I’d be tempted to stay right here.”

“I’m pretty sure we have eight hours once we say good night.”

She smiled. “Sounds like I’m going to need another nap tomorrow.”

“Count on it.”

She slid her fingers through his hair, tracing the back of his neck. “It’s a shame I’m not going to be able to be lazy much longer.”

“You’ve got some time.”

She shook her head. “I need to get back to my life—to being in control again. I haven’t been in so long.”

“What about the press?”

She shrugged as the contentment of the last several minutes started fading. “They don’t get to be in charge anymore.”

“They’re going to hound you.”

“Yes, they are. And when they realize I’m not talking, they’ll eventually go away.”

He sighed. “I want this to end. For you. For us.”

“So do I. I have a business to get up and running, and I need to call Marion and get this last exhibition off my plate. I’m not waiting until New Year’s Day like she’s planning. And I think I want to have it here on the island instead of the gallery.”

He raised his brow. “No kidding?”

She nodded. “I’m ready to tell her I’m finished. I’m not touring and I’m not renewing the contract.”

“You’re sure about that?”

She nodded again, more adamantly. “Positive. As soon as my mom leaves, it’s back to—” Her stomach growled loudly, interrupting their conversation.

He grinned. “Sounds like you’ve worked up an appetite.”

“They say good sex burns crazy calories.”

He chuckled.

She kissed him. “It’s nice to think our families are waiting for us—that we’re all going to have a meal together.”

“Agreed.” He stood, fixing his boxers and jeans as she put her pants back on and refastened her bra. Reaching out his hand, he helped her off the bed. “Let’s go grab some grub.”
