She smiled and tucked her hair behind her ear, looking up at him from under her lashes.

Her hints of shyness were a shot to his libido. He reached out his hand to her.

She took it and walked with him to the front door, then stepped inside before him after he unlocked it.

He hit the hallway light switch, tossed his keys on the entryway table, took off his jacket and hung it on the closet doorknob. “Do you need anything? Want anything to eat or drink?”

She shook her head.

He noted the way her pulse pounded in her throat and pulled her close. “We don’t have to do this.”

“I want to. It’s just—it’s been a while.”

“So we’ll take our time.” He planned to anyway. “There’s no rush,” he said, tugging on the zipper of her fleece as he held her gaze.

She nodded.

He captured her mouth in a slow kiss, commanding himself to relax. Tonight was theirs—just for them. He let his tongue glide over hers when she rested her hands on the sides of his waist. Moving to her jaw, he feathered kisses along her soft skin. “Should we go upstairs?”

“Yes,” she whispered.

They walked up to the master bedroom, where the moon shined in through the wall of windows facing his ocean view. “Do you want me to close the blinds? We have plenty of privacy, but I want you to be comfortable.”

She shook her head. “It’s fine like this.”

He took off his holster and set it on the nightstand, then checked his radio to make sure it was off before he closed the distance between them, eager to finally be with her.

She brought her hands to his elbows, then let them slide up the backs of his arms. “I’m never quite sure what to do.”

“Let yourself enjoy the way it feels when I touch you.” He cupped her cheeks. “Everything else will take care of itself.”

“Okay.”

He brought his mouth to hers again in an edgy kiss, ready to move them in the right direction.

She whimpered, clutching at the sleeves of his shirt, meeting his demands stroke for stroke.

He nipped her bottom lip and moved to her neck as he sent her jacket to the plush carpeting. “Is this okay?” he whispered next to her ear.

“Yes,” she shuddered out.

He freed the hem of her T-shirt from snug denim and pulled it over her head, then groaned as he slid his thumbs over aroused pink nipples in her sheer white bra. Her skin was so creamy, so silky and smooth. “Callie,” he said quietly, teasing her again, watching her suck in another shaky breath and snag her bottom lip with her teeth in the sexy way that drove him crazy.

She held his gaze and reached up for the front clasp.

He stopped her movements with gentle pressure on her hand. “There’s no rush,” he reminded her as he brought his mouth to the clinging fabric and traced her with his tongue.

She let her head fall back and combed her fingers through his hair. “Mmm.”

He nibbled gently—one beautiful breast, then the other, her small gasps and throaty purrs urging him to finally set her free. He sent her bra to the floor and palmed her, giving a slight squeeze.

Her breath caught, coming faster, and she pulled off his shirt. “I don’t want to be shy with you,” she said as she traced his pecs with her fingers.

Damn, she was going to send him over the edge. “That’s good, because it’s just us here—you and me.”

She touched her lips to his, then followed the path her hands had taken with hot openmouthed kisses along his muscles.

Goosebumps puckered his skin as she continued her exploration of his chest and abs.
