I read his last text and put my phone away.

“Doesn’t look like Knox and Savi need anything tonight,” I say, starting my car and putting it in reverse.

“Sophia said the same thing,” she nods, looking out the window, deep in thought. “What was Scarlett’s birth like? Were you scared?” She asks quietly, breaking the silence.
