“I love you,” she whispered against his lips, but every dragon in the room heard it. We were all exhausted after knotting Rowan, but that didn’t mean we weren’t going to appreciate the fucking glorious sight in front of us.

There was nothing more stunning than seeing our mate being pleasured so thoroughly.

Nix’s hips began to pump back and forth, and I could imagine what it felt like to be sheathed in all that warmth, namely because I’d just been there. I rested easily on the bed, watching them, my knot incredibly sensitive.

I could be patient.

“Oh, Nix…” Rowan’s brow furrowed, a look of almost pain as the undoubtedly intense sensations worked through her. She looked so damn stunning like that, her expression utterly consumed by the euphoria of having her pussy claimed by one of her Alphas.

“You feel like heaven.” Nix dropped his head, his forehead pressing against Rowan’s, hands planted firmly into the bed as he moved in and out of her, his knot visibly swelling. “Our perfect, heavenly mate.”

“Please, Nix,” Rowan whimpered, her eyes squeezed tightly as she breathed, slow and purposeful, her body rising and falling in a beautiful arch. “I need your knot. Please.”

“Anything, gorgeous.” Nix smiled at her, his adoring expression locked on our mate.

Relishing the sight, I gripped myself, wrapping my hand around my knot to feel a fraction of the warmth offered by Rowan’s pussy. Nix focused, curling his hips into Rowan as his knot began to breach her, then slipped inside. He shuddered, and Rowan moaned, sounding so deliciously pleased.

Neither of them hurried, however. This moment between them was slow and pointed; each thrust a deliberate choice. Nix leaned down, burying his head in the crook of Rowan’s neck, and she wrapped a leg around his hip in return. I could tell by just looking at them that they were right there, right on the edge.

A low groan sounded from another spot on the bed, and I recognized it as Orsen, the three of us watching were having a fucking ball doing so.

“Nix!” Rowan cried out breathily.

I knew that sound well enough to know she was coming.

He grunted low in return, turning into Rowan’s neck so that I was looking at the back of his head. She let out a tiny hiss, and I had to assume his teeth had found her, even if only a little.

Although we all wanted to claim her like that, we seemed to be holding off, letting Rowan get used to all of us at once before we mixed that into things.

Nix’s thrusts stuttered as, at last, he sank himself inside her completely, then collapsed, nearly crushing her, if it weren’t for how he leaned more of his weight on one arm. Rowan breathed hard, and I smiled at the sight of her so thoroughly satisfied.

After a moment, she grinned, sighing out, “Nap. I get a nap now.”

Waking up next to Rowan was a fucking dream come true.

After so many years without her, I almost didn’t want to believe it. My mate was lying next to me without a stitch of clothing on, pressed between Bastian and me.

We were all exhausted from the night before, but I struggled to fall asleep, content with simply watching my mate. Eventually, I couldn’t deny the exhaustion, and I’d drifted off into a deep sleep.

Abruptly, Orsen appeared next to me, eyeing me with his hand on my shoulder.

That was why I’d woken up at all. Otherwise, I was certain I’d still be sleeping.

I was slightly peeved. Sleep was a glorious thing, and I didn’t like to miss it, plus at the same time, it meant I got more time snuggling with a sleepy Rowan. Our mate was usually so strong—she was the perfect Alpha female in that regard—but those morning hours when she was all soft and rumpled were fucking precious to me.

“We need to talk,” he said, then gestured at Rowan. “She’s dead to the world. Come on.” His face was serious.

I cocked a brow. “Huh? Are you serious? Can’t we just—”

“Get up. We’re needed downstairs. Let Rowan sleep.”

Sighing, I looked over at Rowan, wishing I could stay here with her. But Orsen seemed tense, so I had to assume this was something important. After dragging myself out of bed, I threw on some clothing and followed him out of the room.

Bastian and Nix were waiting for us in the kitchen, Ma nowhere in sight. It was far too early for her to be up. It was still dark outside. None of us should have been awake, yet there we were, sitting around the small table.

“So, what’s going on?” I asked.
