“Pixie? Do you need some help?”

I froze and then turned to look at him. “Nope. Just checking out the equipment to make sure everything is in place and ready before I mount.”

“Ahh, so that’s what it’s called,” he said with a grin that had my nipples tightening even more. “And is it?”

“Is it what?”

He chuckled. “Ready?” he coaxed.

“Hmmm, I better double-check.” I lifted onto my knees, not taking my eyes off his as I reached between my legs and drew a single finger through the lips of my sex. I was rewarded with the sight of his pupils dilating as I lifted my glistening finger to my mouth and ever so slowly slid it between my lips. I could feel his erection growing as I hollowed my cheeks and sucked hard, making sure I thrust my breasts out as far as I could while adding a flip of my hair as I looked back over my shoulder to see a drop of precum oozing from the slit on his dick.

Smiling, I looked at him again and released my finger with a pop.

“I think—”

“You better saddle up before I embarrass myself,” he cut in.

I giggled and then squealed when his hands came up to encircle my waist as he lifted me and settled me in that very saddle.

“Ride ’em, cowgirl,” he said once my eyes had stopped rolling with the pure ecstasy of feeling so incredibly filled as I sank down inch by inch until out bodies were nestled together.

“Giddyup,” I drawled and began to move.

It wasn’t perfect but its very imperfection made it the most perfect ride of my life. When he began to stroke my clit as I rode, I almost unseated myself from the jolt of electricity that shot straight through me.

His free hand tightened at my waist. “Whoa there, cowgirl.”

I opened my eyes for the first time in who knew how long and looked up to see him grinning. “I think that’s supposed to be my line.”

“Pardon me, ma’am, shall I cease?”

When I felt his finger leave my clit, I immediately grabbed his hand. “You do and I just might die.”

“Can’t have that,” he said. “Let’s see how you are at riding a bucking bronco.”

I didn’t have time to ask what that meant before he began to thrust his hips up as I came down, and as I felt my climax building and building, then burst through every cell in my body, I learned that I could last far longer than eight seconds as I rode that stallion until his bellow joined mine as we came together. As I lay sprawled across his chest, the sound of his pounding heart in my ear had me smiling.

“How’d I do, Daddy?”

“I hereby crown you the queen of the rodeo,” he said, dragging me up in order to kiss me before rolling to his side and then wrapping his arms around me.

I closed my eyes, thinking nothing could ever be more perfect than this moment until his lips brushed against my ear.

“I love you, my redheaded pixie queen.”

Turns out I was never so happy to be so very wrong.

Chapter Twenty-One

One Month Later

Lincoln

I glanced to my right and my heart caught in my throat yet again. Livvy’s hair flowed behind her like an auburn wave as she rode Calico across the field. She’d lost her hat within the first minute of our race. It had been a month since she’d set aside the crutches as her ankle healed. I knew it would take far longer to set aside all the painful memories of her past, but when she turned to look at me, the pure joy on her face told me she was well on her way.

“You’re gonna lose!” she taunted.

“Just giving you a head start,” I called back, not the least bit surprised to see her dig her heels into Calico’s side to urge the paint to go just a bit faster.
