“There’s a coat closet opposite the top of the stairs on the second floor,” I replied as he breezed past to wash his hands in the bathroom sink. “You may take anything you like.”

He hummed and gifted me another wide smile on his way out of the bathroom. “I was hoping you’d say that. So… how are you feeling?”

It took me a moment to realize he was asking about the press conference, not the mind-blowing orgasm he’d just forced out of me or the cum he’d lodged inside me.

“I have no doubt everything will go as planned,” I answered stiffly but professionally—simultaneously relieved and sad I hadn’t shared more about myself before the misunderstanding about Ana. “The PR company I hired prepared a speech, so there isn’t much for me to worry about.”

A speech I still need to look at…

Rowen nodded, eyeing me strangely. “What about if the press throws a curveball at you?”

I shrugged, trying to exude a confidence I didn’t fully feel. “I’ve been instructed to not answer any curveball questions. Your boss will handle those.”

This time, his grin was pure evil. “Yeah, well, Lowry is used to my bullshit, so she should be ready for whatever happens out there.”

“Indeed,” I replied, sliding my hands into my robe pockets before I was tempted to pull him closer.

We stared at each other for a few seconds before he nodded. “Welp. You should probably get started on that shower. I’ll… go grab a coat and see myself out downstairs.”

Yes, Mr. Quincy.

I nodded, already missing his presence, but knowing the spell had been broken. “I suppose I’ll see you in a couple of hours.”

And then, as often as I would like.

Rowen nodded as well, chewing on his bottom lip before smiling in a way I could tell wasn’t as genuine as before. “I wouldn’t miss it for anything.”

With that, he was gone, and I remained standing where I was for a good twenty seconds, staring at the empty space he’d occupied only a moment before. Then I walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower, needing to shut out the sound of him downstairs, effortlessly moving through my home like he lived here too.

Rowen

Fuck, this coat smells good.

Giano’s sex potion scent may have been one of the deciding factors for choosing this thick, nearly floor-length, black peacoat, but it wasn’t the main reason.

And my favorite billionaire will find out why soon enough…

“Ah, Rowen! There you are.” My boss popped her head out of her office as I attempted to sneak past for a coffee first. “Won’t you step inside for a quick chat?”

“Yeah… you, uh, wanted to see me, Agent Lowry?” I cleared my throat as I drifted in after her, suddenly worried this entire meeting was its own sting operation.

And here I am, pretty much wearing the evidence…

“Yes.” Lowry gestured for me to close the door, which immediately sent my blood pressure skyrocketing. “It’s about Giancarlo Luxford.”

I shook my head at her offer to sit—because I couldn’t—and slid my hands into my coat pockets, discreetly manipulating how the fabric was covering things as I clocked the half open window to my right.

The drop wouldn’t be too bad…

“Stop looking for an escape route, Rowen,” she huffed, dropping into her squeaky desk chair. “This is good news.”

“Oh?” I chuckled, impressed as always by her ability to correctly read the situation, unlike most of the agents she was in charge of wrangling.

It’s why she’s the one in charge of this circus.

Lowry looked like she was trying to suppress a smile. “Apparently, you made quite the impression on our important client. Mr. Luxford specifically requested you to be his liaison for the case.”
