“I’ll go with you,” I smirk, looking down at him. “I can just sleep through the daylight.”

“Yeah, I mean … if you want to,” Rohan mumbles, biting his lip and looking away from me.

Fuck, he acts so shy when he likes someone.

Wait, does he like me?

Has he accepted the fact that Zero and I are the same fucking person? Rohan kicks the front of my boot, snapping my attention back to him. “What are you doing?”

“Nothing.”

“Exactly, you’re just staring at me like a creep,” he says softly.

“You can never stay cute for long, can you?”

“Cute?” Rohan’s eyes widen, they look like when a cat sees something it really wants. I’m going to die. They’re so big and starry.

I lean down close to his ear. “Yeah, you’re cute … sometimes.”

“Let’s go back to the inn and lie down, your head is fucked from getting rocked by that monster,” he says, pushing me.

“Sure, whatever you say, kitten.”

Chapter 30

Rohan

It’s almost time for the harvest fest. The town’s people have put up more string lights and decorations throughout the map that flood our room at the inn with a warm glow. It’s so beautiful. I’ve already washed up quietly while Tyson was resting. I tried to sleep with him, but I was just too restless.

Restless thinking about how much I really might actually like him. Seeing Tyson in that state back at the castle made me sick. Looking back, thinking that he had left me in here alone was a kind of dread I never felt before. I thought maybe it was because I was afraid of not being able to get out on my own.

But no.

We’re still trapped here.

But we’re together.

And I’m starting to think if it were like this forever, I wouldn’t mind it. As long as he’s here with me.

I almost gag thinking about it.

Maybe it won’t be so bad. To let myself enjoy whatever this is for whatever time we’ll have here.

I like Tyson Moon.

It’s okay. I’m okay. He’s okay.

It’s okay to want to kiss your rival who only just took everything you ever wanted from you. But he’s like actually an ok guy. More than okay, turns out he’s quite the gentleman, sometimes. He only wants the best for me, and he kisses me like I’m the only thing he needs to survive in this world.

“Why do you keep making that noise?” Tyson grunts in his sleep.

“What noise?”

“Like you’re throwing up.”

“Oh, cause I’m about to.”

“Well, do it outside the room,” Tyson says, turning over.
