"Your sister has been feeding us since we left San Francisco."

Rose nodded.

"I think she's convinced hunger causes poor decisions."

Willow grinned.

"It usually does."

Even Nathan accepted a delicious-looking plate of grilled prawns with the works. Calle carried another tray behind her.

"I'd forgotten how good food tastes when someone else makes it," Nathan said.

"You've clearly never met Willow before."

Hazel teased.

"I haven't."

Nathan admitted.

"But I suspect your grandfather would be very proud."

Willow's smile softened.

"I hope so."

As everyone ate...

Ben quietly spread the photographs Ivy had taken across the chart table.

"The compass."

"The journal."

"The floating message."

"The erased writing."

He arranged them carefully.

"They're connected."

Ward leaned over the table.

"But we're missing one piece."

Nathan looked down.

"Sea Maiden."

Ben nodded.

"No."

He pointed to the message James had hidden.

"'Meet old friend.'"
