The second man stepped onto the deck.

He accepted the binoculars.

He looked.

Not at the water.

At us.

I looked at the back of the camera.

The photographs were crystal clear.

My smile slowly disappeared.

I found Ben on the upper deck.

He and Ward were quietly talking while pretending not to watch the horizon.

"Ben?"

He looked over immediately.

Something in my voice made him straighten.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't know."

I held out the camera.

"But I think you should see these."

He accepted it.

Scrolled.

Stopped.

Didn't say a word.

Ward stepped closer.

"What is it?"

Ben handed him the camera.

Ward looked.

His jaw tightened almost imperceptibly.

"They're watching us."
