A camera clicked behind her, and Sianni turned around.
“Wait. You were taking pictures?”
The photographer lowered his camera with a smile.
“Those might be some of the best ones we’ve gotten.”
“For real?” she asked.
He motioned us over and turned the screen around. Sianni stood in front of me with her hands against my shirt, while I looked down at her with a smile I ain’t even realize was on my face.
I stared at the picture for a second. That shit was hard.
“Aww,” Sianni said beside me.
I looked down at her. “What you ‘awwing’ for?”
“Look how you’re looking at me.”
“The fuck you expect? You’re my wife.”
Her smile widened, and I shook my head.
“Don’t start getting emotional and shit.”
“Boy, shut up.”
I laughed and pulled her against my side. The photographer took a few more pictures before somebody finally came over and told us they were ready for the interview.

Sianni sat beside me while a crew member finished adjusting the mic clipped to my shirt. Across from us, the interviewer shuffled through a few cards while everybody else moved around, getting shit together.
I glanced over at Sianni.
“You good?”
“Yeah.” She looked at me. “Are you good?”
“The fuck that mean?”
Her eyebrow lifted, and I laughed because I knew exactly what she meant.
“I’m good, ma. I know how to behave.”
“Uh-huh.”
“Why you saying it like that?”
“Because I know you.”
Before I could respond, the interviewer laughed from across from us.
“I can already tell this is going to be interesting.”
“See?” I pointed at Sianni. “We ain’t even started yet, and you already got these people thinkin’ I’m the problem.”
“You are the problem.”
