“Come on, Boss. We don’t have to be up early tomorrow and we don’t have to do anything crazy. A few drinks and some dancing. It’ll be fun.”

He made a good point, and I sure as hell could afford to let off some of this nervous steam that had been building since we left Ashton Creek.

“Fine,” I agreed. “But if either of you idiots are puking in the morning, then you’re sleeping outside the rest of the week.”

“Deal. This is going to be awesome. I’m going to tell Paige,” Tweety said.

I stood and stepped in front of him, placing a hand on his chest.

“I’ll tell her,” I said sternly.

Tweety nodded and sank back down onto the couch.

I turned and slowly stalked toward the room Paige had claimed earlier. We let her have the master since it had the biggest closet. and the rest of us didn’t really care where we slept.

As I peeked inside, I saw Paige laying on the bed, scrolling through her phone. I knocked on the door frame twice, causing her eyes to snap to mine.

“We’re going out to get food and have some drinks tonight.”

Paige shot up with a massive smile on her face. “Really?”

“Yes, Pip, really.”

“I have to pick an outfit.” She scrambled off the bed, practically falling on her face, and ripped open her suitcase.

“What’s wrong with what you’re wearing now?” I crossed my arms and leaned against the doorframe.

She froze and blinked at me. “Are you joking?”

I raised a brow at her.

“Oh, wow, not joking.” She stood and clapped her hands together once. “I sat in a vehicle that smelled like farts in this outfit for hours. I won’t be seen in public like this.”

“Who are you trying to impress?” Something tightened in my chest, and I fought the urge to ball my fists.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” she cooed, fluttering her eyelashes.

“Behave yourself tonight,” I said, keeping my frustration at bay.

“Or what? You’ll send me home?” She laughed and shook her head. “You’re not my boss, Cash. You aren’t in charge of me, and the moment you try to tell me what to do is the moment I do the exact opposite.”

“You’re going to be the death of me,” I mumbled under my breath as I pushed off the doorframe.

“Sounds like a great way to go!” Paige shouted after me.

THAT THING YOU WANT BUT CAN NEVER HAVE

PAIGE

We pushed into the Disco Cowboy Saloon and Dance Hall, and my heart was instantly happy as I breathed in the smell of beer and sweat. I practically sprinted to the railing and looked out over the crowded dance floor as people spun and danced in sync.

I bounced on my toes and faced the guys. “If you need me I’ll be down there.”

I spun and ran down the stairs into the sea of people. I raised my hands above my head and started swinging my hips along with the music. When I glanced back, I found the guys had settled at a table against the upper railing; all three of them were staring down at me. I smirked and shifted so they had a perfect view of my ass. If they wanted to watch, I’d give them a show.

When Cash told me we were going out, I changed into a pair of black high-waisted denim cutoffs with green knee-high cowgirl boots. I had on a dark green tank top that was cut so it cropped above my shorts, and a black cowgirl hat sat on top of my long, bouncy blonde curls. I was a cowboy’s wet dream tonight…and I planned to make a few lose their minds.
