“Frightened?”
“We settled that this morning.”
“Perhaps I need convincing.”
“You need something.”
Her eyes brightened.
“Tell me what.”
I sat back and looked at her.
She went still under it. Not uncomfortable. Alert.
The room became very quiet.
“Put down the whisky,” I said. “And sit properly.”
Her hand moved before thought caught it.
The glass clicked onto the desk.
She slid off the edge, took the chair opposite mine, and sat with her knees together and her hands folded in her lap.
Then she realized she had obeyed.
Color climbed her throat.
I let the silence hold for one beat. Two.
“Good girl.”
Her breath left her.
The response was immediate. Her knees pressed tighter. Her lips parted. The pale eyes went dark around the pupils, fixed on me with anger and hunger tangled together.
My cock hardened so fast it hurt.
I stood.
She did not retreat when I came around the desk. She tipped her head back, following me.
“What else?” she asked.
My voice was not entirely steady. “What else what?”
“What else would you tell a good girl to do?”
I stopped between her knees.
I did not touch her.
That was the point. The lack of touch became a thing in the room, heavy and hot.
“I might tell her to eat when she has skipped meals.”
Her tongue moved over her lip.
