“My cock?” I teased, running the pad of my thumb over her swollen clit.

“You, dumbass. Ah.” She shuddered.

Pride swelled inside me. I loved that I could make her speechless. “I need you.”

Her words snapped the last bit of self-control I had left. I surged inside her. Thrusting hard and fast as she moaned and cried out.

“If my girl wants to be fucked hard, then that’s what she gets.” I growled.

She clenched around my cock, just as close to her peak as I was. I focused all my energy on making sure she came again. I was the lucky bastard who’d managed to get Sabrina Monroe into his bed, and I would never take that for granted. She didn’t know it, but she owned me, mind, body, and soul. And as we cried out together, I knew that there was nothing I wouldn’t give this woman.

Chapter 35

Sabrina

Propped up against four dozen pillows, we sat side by side and ate the chocolate chip cookies that Gabe had baked. Not from scratch, but the premade dough from the refrigerator section at the grocery store. They were amazing.

The way he surprised me with dinner was touching and totally unexpected. No man had ever done that for me before. Sure, I’d been wined and dined at the finest establishments, the sort of places people went to be seen. But no one had ever slaved away in the kitchen to feed me. And I was annoyingly charmed by his efforts.

It was late, but the orgasms had energized me, and my brain was stimulated from all the ideas we’d discussed tonight. Tiny flakes swirled around outside while we sat in this amazing, comfy bed and snacked.

When we weren’t arguing, we made a dangerously effective team.

“We’re going to need to allocate a budget,” he explained, balancing his laptop on his knee. His chest was bare and his hair was wild from all the tugging I’d done. He was even more delicious than these cookies. “We have some discretionary funds tied to the Maple Festival, but this type of event has different needs.”

“How different?”

“We may need to dedicate some staff, and there will be accounting and legal costs.” He winced. “Not to mention insurance.”

I hummed. “That feels ominous.”

He leaned over and kissed me; he tasted like chocolate. “Welcome to municipal government, gorgeous. We’ll need feasibility studies.”

He kissed me again.

“Legal review.”

Another kiss.

“Safety protocols.” Kiss.

I liked this game. It made all the boring stuff much more palatable.

“Not to mention the big one.” He kissed my forehead. “Emergency management coordination.”

A giggle bubbled out of me. “I can’t decide whether this is sexy or really boring.”

He smirked, and my insides heated. That damn crooked smile got me every time.

“Oh, baby, you should see me review liability waivers.”

I waggled my brows. “Are you talking dirty to me, Mr. Mayor?”

“Yes I am.” He winked.

Another giggle escaped me. Dammit. I’d been reduced to a woman who giggled. Apparently all it took was roast chicken, a few orgasms, and a shirtless hottie talking budget in bed.

“Fine.” I sighed, slumping back. “We fundraise and line up corporate sponsors. Vermont eats this wacky small-town shit up.”
