Nico offered no resistance when I removed his fingers and positioned myself above him. And he certainly didn’t complain when I lowered myself onto his cock. Despite the preparation, it took time to adjust.

His smug smile suggested he was enjoying every second.

“You’re arrogant,” I muttered as I began to move.

“Yes.”

“You’re used to getting whatever you want.“

His hands settled on my hips, encouraging a faster pace.

“Yes and no.”

“What don’t you get?”

Something flickered across his face. For a moment, he looked as though he was on the verge of saying something important.

An admission, perhaps.

Then he shook his head.

“What?” I pressed.

Instead of answering, he surged upward and captured my mouth in a heated kiss that rendered conversation impossible.

I rode him for several minutes, putting everything I had into it and taking satisfaction in every gasp and groan I drew from him.

Eventually, it stopped being enough for either of us. Luckily, Nico had a plan. He flipped us over, pushed my knees up around my neck, and drove back into me. “Yes,” I panted repeatedly.

From that point on, there was only sensation. And pleasure. So much pleasure. I was a slave to the relentless rhythm of his body moving against mine. In mine.

Whenever I drifted too close to the edge, he’d slow down and pull me back from the brink, only to build me up all over again. By the time he finally allowed me to come, I was almost sobbing with frustration and need. The orgasm wrung every ounce of strength from me.

Nico followed shortly afterward, his groan loud and unmistakable.

I vaguely remembered him cleaning me up, although not the completion of it, because I was already asleep.

Chapter Twenty-nine

The next few days alternated between periods of intense fucking, proving beyond a doubt that Nico certainly didn’t lack stamina, and stretches where he disappeared to show his face at work. Boredom reigned supreme in his absence. There was only so much TV a person could watch without losing their mind, and Nico didn’t own a single book. I had, however, kept my word and stayed inside the apartment.

Why wouldn’t I? There was nothing for me out there anymore. Not now that I knew everything I’d thought had existed between Warren and me had been nothing but smoke and mirrors.

Nico didn’t get home till late. Late enough that it irritated me in a way I found deeply embarrassing, as though I were some old-fashioned housewife who’d spent the day looking after the kids while I waited for my husband to return from the office.

We ate in near-silence. Nico had brought food with him, something that only needed reheating. No kids. No need to cook. I was a housewife with no chores to do. No wonder I was bored.

“What did I do?” Nico asked once both our plates were empty.

“Nothing,” I muttered.

I was still dressing in his suits. It was that or spend all day in a robe. Nico probably wouldn’t object. In fact, he’d likely consider it all the more convenient.

I objected. He’d promised to get me clothes days ago, but nothing had materialized.

Nico studied me. “So I just get the silent treatment instead?”

“Clothes,” I said.
