“Wait, this is perfect!” Beck says, clasping my hand. He’s practically vibrating in his seat.

“I actually have the medication here with me, after what you mentioned on the call,” Dr. Brennar says, pulling out a bright orange bottle containing a liquid. “Beck,” She says pointedly, “here is your double dose of the heat-starting medication!”

“So—so I’m medically all in the clear for this, right?” I say, wiping my free, clammy hand on my leggings.

“Yes. One of my concerns with knotting was that it could have destabilized your hormones without a bite mark... and while your Omega Stress Syndrome hasn’t completely resolved, the risk of that will be practically nonexistent considering... well, the fact that you’ll be receiving five bite marks pretty soon.”

I don’t think I’ve seen Dr. Brennar this excited. It’s honestly easing some of the stress and anxiety I’ve been feeling over this. It’s reminding me that at the end of the day, bonding is a beautiful thing.

Especially after every single one of my guys dropped down to one knee—or both knees, in Beck’s case—and basically proclaimed their love for me.

“Thank you, Dr. Brennar,” I say, offering her a relieved smile.

“I’ll leave you guys to it. Good luck. Remember to have hydration and quick snacks handy, and have fun!”

And with those sex-ed-like parting words, she leaves us with the bright orange bottle sitting on the coffee table in front of us.

“Sooo...” Beck says, a glimmer flashing in his bright eyes. “Wanna measure out our doses in shot glasses so we can cheers and take them together?”

I throw my head back as I burst into laughter. It’s the first real laugh I’ve let out since I saw my dad lying on the driveway.

“Sure, let’s do it.”

Two shots of sweet cherry-flavored medicine later, and I’m giving all my guys a quick kiss before rushing upstairs to shower. Time seems to stretch in a way that’s difficult to describe. Every time my heart beats, I question whether my heat is starting yet. The warmth of the shower doesn’t help, because I can’t tell whether that flush of heat I feel on my skin is because of that or the medication.

I dry myself off with a towel, my movements rushed and jerky. After yanking a comb through my damp hair a few times to try to get the tangles out, I’m ready.

I emerge into my bedroom, not bothering with clothes, and staring at the door to my nest.

When I’ve finally built up the courage to enter my nest, I grab hold of the doorknob and pull the door open.

There are a lot of things about my dad’s home that have been intentionally designed. The room that now serves as my nest is another one of those things. It has two entrances, one directly from my bedroom and one out into the main hall. It has low ceilings, probably only a couple of inches taller than Eli standing straight. Around the border of the room is a ring of soft carpet around steps that dip down into an area where the entire floor is covered by a bunch of modular, soft cushions.

From my understanding, the covers of the cushions are removable and washable. But worrying about cleanup is future Andi’s concern.

And to be honest, I’m pretty sure all of my guys will agree that it won’t be my job to handle any of that.

I expect to see everyone already inside, but the only person I see is Beck.

He pops his head out of a mound of various pillows and blankets, offering me a sheepish smile.

“Hey... I’ve been trying to organize our nest and it’s... not going so hot. Any tips?”

Not going so hot is a bit of an understatement, but I think the attempt is endearing.

“You’ve gotta organize the smaller pillows on the bottom,” I giggle, making my way over to him.

I feel my skin flush hot at the feel of his gaze on my tits as they bounce a little with each step. Is the medication working? Or do I just like the way Beck looks at me?

Probably a combination of both.

When I make my way to the center of the pile, Beck tugs down his boxers and tosses them away.

“There, now we’re even,” he murmurs.

It’s my turn to take in the sight of him naked. There’s a bar of light running along the base of the walls, casting the room into a dim glow that makes the space feel incredibly cozy.

“Even is one way of putting it,” I laugh. “Naked is another. Where are the others?”
