“I haven’t spoken to you since you mentioned your crush, and holy shit, sounds like it’s gone way beyond that.”

“It has. I love him, Si. And he loves me. Like, he told me he’s in love with me. We’re in love. He’s my boyfriend. Holy shit, I didn’t know I could feel this way about anyone.”

Silence greets me again. Not surprising.

“Whoa.” Silas finally speaks. “I need time to let this fully sink in. So, it’s official?”

“Only between us.”

“Right. And staying in his bed means that you two have already—”

“Yes. Oh yes. Fuck yes. The sex is unreal. But no anal yet. Well, I topped him. Once,” I ramble. “I was so nervous but he’s amazing and now I think I want to have him in my ass. And he rimmed me, holy shit, why didn’t you tell me it was like that? But I haven’t given him a blow job yet. To be honest, I don’t think I can take all of him. In my mouth or in my ass. His dick is massive. Shit, you don’t need to know that. Not that all there is to us is fucking because Sel’s an incredible person—”

“Slow down, Finn,” Silas chuckles. “You don’t want to add to your injury by developing high blood pressure.”

“It’s just that I can’t talk about this with anyone besides Sel, and I need to. You know me.”

Silas chuckles.

“I do, and I know the feeling, so go for it. Give me all the dirty deets.”

“All of them?”

“The ones you want to share.”

“We could be talking for hours.”

“Do you have anywhere else you need to be?”

I start from the beginning.

Sel

I admit that I’m still shook up about Finn’s injury and the fight with Donaldson, but I’m also nervous about how the rest of my teammates will react. Berg, Sorensen, Kuznetsov, and Makela, no problem, but the others? I remind myself that the Bandits are the issue, not me. And while it was one of the scariest nights of my life, this morning with Finn was the absolute best. I replay every word we shared, and it fills me with hope and courage. So much so that I step into the locker room with a determined stride.

Fucking hell, it’s a comeback for my cocky attitude. If some of the guys turn on me, I’ll deal with it. Finn doesn’t blame me, but then again, he’s the sweetest man I’ve ever met. I’ll always feel guilty about him getting hurt, but I’ll find a way to keep moving forward. I won’t let Donaldson, the Bandits, or anyone else push me around.

“Hey, guys, can I have a moment?” I announce, and the chatter in the room comes to a standstill. “I wanted to give you an update on Finn. He’s feeling alright today, still sore and tired, but optimistic about his shoulder recovery. Also, bad timing, there was a leak in his unit, so he’s staying in my guest room for a bit. If any of you want to stop by and visit, anytime, you’re more than welcome.”

Makela is the first one to speak up.

“Can I stay too? We’re friends now, yes?” he asks with a smirk. “I take the couch.”

I chuckle at his ridiculousness and offer him my favorite hand gesture.

“I don’t think so. First, you’re not injured, second, you haven’t had to evacuate your home, and third, you’re not as funny as you think.”

Makela stands up, puts his hands together and offers up a pleading look that has me and the rest of the guys laughing harder.

“What about inviting everyone?” he adds. “We can have epic Rush sleepover.”

I shake my head.

“You have the idea, you host it,” I counter. “Aren’t you having a party before our break in February? You’ve got a three-story brownstone; you have room for everyone.”

“Great idea, buddy!” Makela pumps his fist.

I roll my eyes.
