And Jem discovers a strange radio apparently taken from the museum, which she and Patrick experiment with. It’s tuned to an obscure wavelength and all it broadcasts is a voice pleading to be rescued from a dark, lonely place.

Jonathan, who hid his scientific background, thinks it’s an old machine developed in the 1920s to contact the dead. He becomes convinced, to the point of obsession.

Meanwhile Cameron is ‘off sick’ while other students pretend Alyson – or rather Suzie – is coming in on at least a weekly basis.

Except Alyson Lang – or Suzie Danners – hasn’t disappeared. She’s helping the MA group set up the installation right now. I’ve just seen her with my own eyes. Whoever’s dead, it isn’t ‘Alyson’.

We need to get the tunnel right – it’s what leads the guests to the head. If we can’t set it up, they’ll suggest we hang it on the wall and the whole installation will be ruined.

The external examiner is here! I did some digging and he contacted me to say he’d love to see the installation. He’s going to chat with RD8 at the gate and see if he can come in.
