A thundering knock at the door broke through my thoughts and actions and I stilled immediately, letting go of my cock and turning the shower off. The last thing I wanted was to get caught in the shower in the middle of the night, jacking off again. I’d finished in bed and then come for a shower and realized that Saraya was still in my head.

And wanting me.

It hadn’t taken much more to get me hard again, and I’d figured that as long as I was in here alone, I might as well take advantage of it.

But another knock on the door told me I most certainly wasn’t alone, and my erection started to melt away.

Who the hell was as knocking on my bathroom door in the middle of the fucking night?

“What?” I snapped, angry at the interruption.

“Boss, you up?” a voice called.

“Yes,” I answered, my irritation growing. Obviously, I was up. What, had they come in here just to see whether I was sleep showering or something? “What do you want?”

I wrapped the towel around my waist, stopped to make sure my cock was covered, and then threw open the door.

Frank sheltered his eyes against the sudden brightness, squinting at me like a mole who’d just been pulled out of his burrow.

“Frank, it’s a little late for social calls,” I ground out.

“Little late for showers, too,” he noted.

Right. “Can’t sleep,” I said by way of explanation. “Too much on my mind. Too much to be done. Too much we’re not doing that we should be taking care of.”

To his credit, he didn’t ask me what I was talking about or ask me to expound on the thought. He knew as well as I did how much it was killing me to have Saraya in Devil’s hands, and how much I wanted to get her back before something went terribly wrong.

She might be safe right now. But the longer she stayed with him, the more time he had to change that. I’d seen what he’d done to her before, and that was when he’d been claiming to love her. What was he capable of when she was nothing more than a prisoner of war? Blackmail?

I knew I’d been telling myself that Frank’s spy was watching over her, but with the dream and the feel of her on my skin, that had become too little.

As Frank must have known, because he jumped in before I could say anything else.

“That’s what I came to talk to you about,” he said quickly, keeping his eyes on my face rather than letting them drop. “The spy I have in Devil’s camp contacted me earlier. She’s ready for action. She says they have a plan in place and that the time has come for her to make a move.”

Everything I’d been thinking about came skidding to a stop and I felt my jaw drop open. “Her?” I asked blankly. “She? Frank, your spy is a woman?”

He gave me a grin. “Of course she is. Who better to fly under the radar, when it comes to Devil? You know as well as I do what the man thinks of anything with breasts.”

“That they’re only good for one thing, and it doesn’t include thinking,” I replied slowly.

He was right. The man had always been convinced that women didn’t have minds of their own and weren’t capable of anything resembling critical thought or problem solving. He’d been shocked as hell whenever a woman did anything he found to be complicated or sophisticated.

He had, I was sure, never seen Saraya’s escape coming. He wouldn’t have thought she had the brains to pull it off.

So when it came to a spy...

Yeah, a woman would get away with it a lot easier than a man, mostly because Devil wouldn’t believe she had the guts or the brains to do anything like it.

“Who is she?” I asked quietly. “Can we trust her? Will she get Saraya out?”

“I think she will. Her name is Sioux. Been with Devil since the start of his club.”

“I know the woman,” I said, the name ringing a bell. She wasn’t important to Devil’s organization, but she was beautiful. Tall and willowy, with a wealth of black hair and a strong, commanding visage. I’d seen her from afar, though I’d never met her.

She’d never looked like the sort of woman who would take any bullshit, and I’d always wondered how she’d lasted so long in Devil’s crew.

If she was spying on him and selling information, though, that explained a whole lot.
